Bay Watch 0409

We’ve stayed at this resort before and enjoyed it, but this time it fell short. Check in was listed for 4pm, it wasn’t ready until after 5pm so we had to wait around with a toddler. For two days, there was a loud drilling noise coming from a nearby room. The pool to this tower was under construction. There was a smell of rotten eggs in the unit at times. The keypad to the door stopped working, so maintenance had to be called to fix that. The wifi also wouldn’t stay connected. Overall, this visit did not meet the expectations set by our previous stays.

Very nice condo and the oceanfront view is beautiful.

We love the location at North Myrtle. Bay Watch has nice pools and poolside snack bar. We have stayed in unit 409 twice because it’s spacious, clean, and has a great view.

Loved sitting on the balcony for sunrise. This is a wonderful way to start the day.

We had to pay $25/day for parking because our SUV with a cargo carrier on top could only access part of the 1st level of the free parking garage because of a red metal pipe running along the ceiling, and it was very difficult to get a spot in that small section of the 1st floor. When paying for parking for our last night, the front desk informed us that the HOA had just raised the parking rate that morning to $30/day. They were decent enough to allow us to pay $25 for our last night. Almost every time we went outside, we either observed or could smell other guests smoking marijuana. There was a lot of riff raff staying at the property. The Fishtails Bar was the only place open to grab some kind of lunch on the property. The food was mediocre in every sense if the word. We waited over 45 minutes for a few chicken club wraps and chicken tenders. We had a baby with us, so the lack of speed was even more frustrating. The person tending bar came back from her smoke break behind the fence we were sitting near and had no idea our food had come out at some point and was sitting there in bagged styrofoam containers (ruined the fries). We paid for our order before it came out, and I majorly regret tipping anything. They didn't do anything at all to earn that tip. We will not be staying here again. I don't believe we will be staying in this area of Myrtle as a whole in the future. Not family friendly. The room was ok, but was dated and had some cosmetic things that could be repaired. The pillows were lumpy, but at least our necks didn't hurt. All of the appliances that we used worked. The view of the ocean was lovely. It was very nice to wake up and see the ocean from our bed! The room felt pretty clean. Not enough to let my baby crawl on the floor or anything, but it was about what you'd expect for a hotel room. Bottom line is that we were here for a couple of days for a wedding at the resort and just wanted some convenience. In some ways we got that, and in other ways we didnt.

Really enjoyed this hotel, pretty quiet and love the access to the beach and the pool. Also love the free parking.
