Lighthouse Retreat at the Beach

Adorable blue home away from home. Plenty of space.

Lighthouse retreat was great. We were in Myrtle Beach for a formal wedding and had our two pugs with us. The main reasons I chose this location was the fact that they allowed pets, had two bathrooms, and a fenced in back yard. The home was clean and offered plenty of space. There were a few sitting areas outside in the shaded backyard so that was nice. The neighborhood was nice also. We were able to take our dogs on a walk with no issue. My only complaint about the stay would be that the yard needed some landscaping.

It's a great location even though it's not on the beach. It's within a 15 minutes drive from all the cool attractions for kids besides the beach. From the Pirate Show and Aquarium to the Wax Museum and beach, everything is very close. Unfortunately, the fenced in yard is very small. The pictures that show the wide open lawn space is in the front of the home and not fenced in. When we arrived all of the cute sitting nooks were full of pollen and the lawn inside the fence needed to be cut. The 10 digit code we received in an email inconsistently worked and a new code was eventually provided after 3 different complaints being made from the 3 different times needed to get in. The last attempt being the last straw when my 8 y.o.d. had an accident because we couldn't get in. The kids bedroom had a broken ladder, a broken bed slat, and crumbs left in the top bunk. The towels were thread bare. The king bed was replaced with a queen in the primary suit. If you have issues, you need to contact the management company that is not local and wait for them to contact their local contacts and then eventually get back to you. This means that any concern can take a day or days to be resolved. While the inside space and location were a positive, there were just too many problems for me to give it a really good review.
