The Patricia Grand 0728

The room was nothing to rave about. It is dated, The outlets are worn and our power bricks for charging devices were falling out easily. The popcorn ceiling was peeling off. The tub drain was slow and the tub would fill up when taking a shower. When we arrived, there was sand in the sheets on the bed, which was disappointing. We did not use the Wi-Fi other than the evening time and apparently so was everyone else so it did cause buffering on the movie we were trying to watch, I ended up switching to my phone hotspot. The few times I used it during the day, it was fine. We did not come here to sit in the room so the pools and lazy river were nice. They did seem like they needed to get cleaned because there was a lot of sand at the bottom of the pool but the water was clear. There was easy access to the beach directly through the pool area. We did find 2 ticks on us after visiting the beach, apparently they are very active in the dune area before getting to the beach. Be aware that during checkout and check-in, you will be waiting a while to use an elevator. There were 5 total elevators (Not Air Conditioned) in the building and there were a few times we ended up taking the stairs. I think I waited 30 minutes to get on an elevator when we were leaving because everyone else was checking out at the same time. Since I had a cart, I could not take the stairs. This is not related to the room but Myrtle Beach has some stupid rules. I was not allowed to set up my sunshade, they only allow umbrellas during the summer, which of course they will rent to you. They said this was due to safety. While they were talking to me about this, a umbrella flew away and hit a kid in the head, not very safe at all. We tried to get one and they were sold out which was a let down. Also, a storm rolled through at 3PM Saturday and the life guards closed the water to everyone. The storm was basically gone by 4:30 PM but they left the flags up and blew whistles at anyone that put their feet in the water. Once closing time hit (6PM) they took the flags down and it did not matter anymore, just couldn't go in while they were on duty. In the future, I will go to a beach that lets me put up my sun shade and lets me decide for myself if its safe to go in the water.

I love the ocean

Great price for this time of year! The room was ocean "side" front. Like I couldn't see the sunrise from the balcony but I could see the fireworks show at the pier from my bed. Literally lol. The room is dated but it was clean.

Great family spot

Beautiful view....clean room.

Loved the views and spending time with my husband. Its no on the private room thru vacasa until resorts and hotels learn how to treat third party guest.
