This has by far been the WOSRT stay I’ve had with Vacasa. I’ve stayed in Vacasa homes for 5 years now and have never encountered anything like this. First the door code did not work. I had to use the lock box key, which is a small issue amongst the rest but important later… The unit was NEVER cleaned before we arrive. It was filthy. I took pictures and sent them to guest services and property management and requested a cleaner come out. This was within two hours of check in and no one arrived for 2days… TWO days later on Wednesday morning a cleaner came and after assessing what needed to be cleaned passed it off on someone else who came unprepared because she said she was only told the floors needed to be wiped… not cleaned or mopped but wiped. In the midst of dealing with the issue of the inadequate cleaning services, the power goes out (for the first time). This took hours to restore. I was told a property manager would call me. They never called, I only got a text when it was restored. The next day while we were out, a vacuum that was filled with other people’s dirt, dust, hair and lint was dropped at the front door. The assumption is that they couldn’t get in to vacuum because we had the lock box key- I messaged the days leading up to this to inform the team that we needed to know a time for the cleaners because we had the only key and we were assured they could get in without it to clean. We ended up having to clean ourselves. We purchased cleaning wipes, bleach, gloves on Monday night (the day we checked in) to make the unit usable and used the vacuum when it was dropped off, though I’m not sure it wasn’t clogged. I didn’t want to touch it too much to find out because it was evidently used (I have pictures. It was full). We used the paper towels to clean the floors and had to wash the sheets. The smell in the unit was bad. From the kitchen sink to the bathrooms to the sheets… After the power outage for hours I felt so defeated that I left the hygiene issue alone. I was just happy to have air and make sure my food in the fridge wasn’t spoiled (milk and things I brought for my kids). The day of check out (Sunday) the power went out again around 8 am and was NEVER restored before checking out at 10. There are no windows in the bathrooms meaning my children, my grandmother and I had to get ready in the dark. There was some light in the master bedroom from the windows if the bathroom door is open but with boys and girls in one unit it was difficult making this work. We rented a unit with two bathrooms to just use one on two different days. We could’ve just paid for a small hotel if that was going to be the arrangement. I was on the phone with guest services who was dismissive and not at all empathetic. It was disheartening to receive messages like “is it not daytime where you are?” To my concern about not having adequate light, air, or power to get ready for checkout. Again, I reached out to guest services and requested a manager. This did not h
