Pelicans Watch 106 On the Beach

Great oceanfront unit with full size washer and dryer. Boogie board, skim board, and chair stored in the washer and dryer area which we didn’t find until our last night. Full size soaps, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in all bathrooms. Bathrooms were clean, modern, and spacious compared to other beach condos. Great unit!

First, let me start by saying we booked this stay through VRBO. I don’t know how Vacassa is involved. Perhaps they own the property. I have a dispute filed with VRBO. My wife and I booked this stay for bike week. Myrtle Beach has bike week yearly. We pulled into the condo complex to signs posted “no motorcycles - will be towed at owners expense “. Nowhere in the property listing is this indicated. It”s Myrtle Beach. It’s bike week. I feel indicating motorcycles are not allowed on the property in the listing is crucial. I immediately texted Vacassa as they had texted me earlier that day to contact them with concerns. There was back and forth between Vacassa and “the owner” and I was told I could not park my bike on premises and would need to find somewhere else to keep it. I argued that I should have been informed of the policy and asked if I could cancel the reservation to look for something more accommodating. The representative simply posted their cancellation policy which indicated I could not cancel. We were off to a great start!!! A few words in the property listing and all of this frustration could have been avoided. The property manager said the person staying in the same unit as us a couple weeks prior had this same issue. As of today, 5/14/26,, the listing is still not updated. Now let’s talk about the beach. The first day it was beautiful. Despite all of the large, rusty pipes piled on the beach in front of our window, we were happy to at least see the ocean . Then came the dredging. It started the second night of our stay and did not stop. Not only was the beach no longer accessible, but it was loud, and bright, and shook the whole place. All day and all night (non-stop) for the remainder of our stay. It kept us up at night. I cannot imagine the owner not being notified that this was going to take place. The property manager on site knew about it. Another thing the owner failed to communicate. The condo was clean however it did smell of stale cigarettes. The smell was more pronounced when the air conditioning kicked on. It is a smoke free facility and I assume another owner or tenant in an adjoining unit is a smoker. Also the Keurig doesn’t work. Otherwise the unit was acceptable.

The unit was very lovely, but they are preparing for piping in sand to the beach. They now have all kind of construction materials on the beach right in front and beside this unit. Not sure if I can post pictures, but there are large pipes that obstructed our ocean front view. Made our ocean front experience less than desirable.

Shore drive area is very peaceful !Location on the beach one flight stairs and you're on the beach and beautiful sunrise from master bedroom balcony!

The view and stay was okay. The issue with not having cable services was my only complaint, and the way the situation was handled. I paid for an amenity that wasn't offered. I bad to go out of my way to make the family comfortable by getting a game console system just to access a TV extra money spent on something that was supposed to be offered

Great little place right on the beach. Close to restaruants and bars.
