While we did enjoy the location and affordability of this home, we had some issues that all future guests should be aware of, and I sincerely hope that this review will be made public. It is the responsibility of the host to make all reviews available to potential guests -- even the reviews that are not so flattering. Our stay was disappointing. 1. Upon arrival, we found that the refrigerator was left unplugged. This is a problem, because we were traveling with some perishable foods, which we could not keep cold in a hot refrigerator. Further, the tray under the 'freezer' part of the unit was overflowing with water. 2. The shower was abysmal, at best. First, there was virtually no pressure. The highest flow rate barely amounted to a trickle. So much so that is was difficult to stand under such a small trickle of water. It also took several minutes to get hot water - then, when the hot water arrived, it was scorchingly hot for about 2 1/2 minutes. During this time, it was impossible to adjust the not/cold mix to a temp that wouldn't burn your skin. After that couple of minutes, the hot water was was gone completely. All cold. 3. The AC unit made an awful vibration noise most of the time. This noise was very effective at preventing sleep for much of the night. 4. Exterior lighting: It was posted inside the cottage that the porch lights are left on permanently, without the option for guests to turn them off. Made it difficult to enjoy an evening sitting on the front porch trying to enjoy the dark sky. VERY frustrating problem! T The sum total of problems with our stay confirmed two things: 1. We will certainly be returning to Belize. However, we will NOT be returning to DV Cabanas or Vacasa.
