Overview

Known for its motto, 'go slow' Caye Caulke provides the perfect place to do just that, kick your feet up and relax! Whether you're hanging out by the beach bar, swimming in the turquoise waters, or lounging in the sun, you're on island time. Excellent wildlife viewing is visible right from the manta ray feeding beach, and every water sport imaginable can be indulged in at your request - diving, sailing, snorkeling, and boating. A shared pool, canoes, bikes, and a grilling area are also available for your use during your stay. Rest assured that no matter what activity you are participating in, the sights will be never-ending as your location offers panoramic views of the Belize Barrier Reef. The moment you walk into your retreat you'll take notice of the gorgeous wood finishes, the plush furnishings, and the sun-drenched kitchen. Play chef amongst the gleaming countertops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. Then, take your meal outside and enjoy the lush views, or dine inside when you need a break from the sun. After a day spent on the sand and in the surf, appreciate rinsing off in one of the impressive walk-in showers. Before bed, flip on the partial air-conditioning and crawl under the quality linens - ready to dream before waking up to another day in paradise! RESORT AMENITIES -Pool -Beach bar -Bikes -Canoes -Dock THINGS TO KNOW This property is located on Caye Caulker's north side. This is separated from town (and from where guests would arrive by plane or boat) by a small channel called 'The Split'. This means the transport of guests for check-in is recommended to be organized by our concierge and comes at an extra cost. It involves a taxi pickup at the boat terminal/airstrip which then heads north, crosses 'The Split' on a small barge, and drives a few minutes north to the property. Guests are approximately 10 minutes away from town by bicycle but still have to cross the channel on the barge and pay a small fee at every crossing.

You must be 18 years or older to rent this property.

We really enjoyed the calmness of being on the North Side. This little gem is right on the water, with an amazing pool and a private dock where we spent a few nights there having a drink or in the early morning with a cup of coffee with a view on the ocean. Alrhough we went when sargassum was at its peek, it smelled a bit but with the wind…we where more than ok. We really appreciated the fact that we had bicycle included! That was a must on the North side and we used them every day! The pad is perfect. Its a 2 story apartment. So 1 room w kitchen and bathroom on both levels. Would be perfect for 2 couples. We where 2 girlfriends travelling together so we had our own apartment. The place is renovated. Our gardener was super nice, he also cut us some fresh coconuts. He was a really nice guy. The place is secure. Close to 2 of the nicest beaches on the island in my opinion. Bliss Beach and Bounty Bay. I would go back there in a flash! Really enjoyed our stay!

Dock was a plus to get picked up for snorkeling and water taxis. Pool was nice. Accommodations were clean. However the pictures with big wrap around balcony are for front house. This listing is for a house in the back. Most importantly. It is NOT an “entire home” as advertised - there are two 1-bedroom units. We were there with our young kids so we had to sort that out because we didn’t want two 1-bedroom apartments as a family, we wanted the 2-bedroom house we thought we booked. Also you cannot access beach - there is a sea wall and loads of sargassum and trash. Overall the north island is chill and we enjoyed Storey’s and Lotus for dinner at Blue Zen - would not reccomend the this 2-unit setup for a family unless you have older kids that want their own apartment

What might be helpful to others is that this is NOT a 2BR, 2 bathroom unit. It is actually 2 separate units each with their own private entrances, kitchens, living areas and porches. Basically a duplex (one up and one down), which was great for us - 2 female friends traveling together. Properties were really clean and both beds were comfortable. For people planning on vacationing here, I would suggest bringing some spices from home and coffee filters if you like a morning cup of jo. There are no provisions other than filtered water. There are pots, pans, knives, plates, bowls, and silverware but nothing else. If you are planning on cooking, you will need to bring all provisions. Groceries are cheaper and more abundant on the south side of Caye Caulker. We would definitely stay here again and preferred the north side of Caye Caulker which is a little quieter and more relaxing. Restaurants on the north side were all wonderful! Bliss Beach and the new Bounty Bay Beach club are both fun. Make sure to try the Shrimp Ceviche at Bliss Beach...the best I have ever had!! I highly recommend renting a golf cart and buying a 5 time pass from the Split-to-Split ferry guys for $50 USD which will allow you to cross the split 5 times (back and forth) with your golf cart. Otherwise it is $25 USD per round trip. We will be back!! Thank you for the great stay.

Very easy walk to the ferry and close to several restaurants. Very clean and decently equipped kitchen. The pool was completely shaded so not good for sun bathing and the ocean is not accessible from the property. The dock is nice for sun bathing but you cannot swim there due to water quality and crocodiles. The photos were not the unit we rented so a little misleading. Overall very clean quiet and a great location.

The two units we rented were fabulous. It was quiet and the dock comfortable to lounge and read in when the winds were too strong to kayak. It was a piece of heaven. Everything about Caye Caulker is idyllic, although we saw the beginnings of over development. The warm people, the spectacular marine life, clear waters had me considering, for the first time other than Costa Rica, more permanent options to stay here. The country accepts US dollars, with an easy 2 to 1 exchange rate making everything easy for small quick purchases. Importantly, there's an absence of the crushing poverty and economic hardship which drives street hawking in other locations.
