Rating
We paid approximately $5,200 for our stay at Spring Oasis and were extremely disappointed by the condition of the property and Vacasa’s lack of support. Before our trip, I contacted Vacasa because I had seen reviews mentioning maintenance problems. I was assured the issues had been resolved, but that was not our experience. The kitchen was not fully functional—the stovetop and dishwasher did not work properly—so our family had to eat meals outside the home, creating significant additional expense. The ice machine made an extremely loud noise throughout the stay and finally stopped working on our checkout day. We also lost electricity for approximately five hours in the middle of our vacation. We were traveling with two children, an elderly family member, and a dog, which made the outage especially difficult. We were informed that the interruption was related to an unpaid electric bill. The beds were uncomfortable and appeared to be wrapped in plastic. Vacasa also scheduled a last-minute fire inspection during our stay without providing a clear time frame. Instead of enjoying our vacation, I spent a significant amount of time calling and emailing for assistance, and many of my messages received little or no response. For the amount we paid, we expected a safe, comfortable, fully functioning rental and responsive customer service. That is not what we received. The property did not match the experience that was advertised, and I would not recommend Spring Oasis based on our stay.
Great Location
This is a great space and location; however, there are multiple issues which are easy to fix, but weren't disclosed before we arrived. Once taken care of, this could be a great find!
Convenience to the beach
The property was beautiful and the location was within walking distance of everything - beach, shops, and restaurants. But sadly, that's the extent of our positive experience with the company that managed the property, Vacasa. Upon our late-night arrival, after 12 hours of travel, we found that someone (the owner) had been staying in the home - it was an unsanitary mess. Trash bags, filthy toilets, used towels on the bathroom floor, beds that had been occupied, a kitchen sink with a pile of dirty dishes. Once we composed ourselves, we called Vacasa's "after hours" phone number. An operator informed us that someone would get back to us in a few minutes. Well, 4 more attempts to reach someone and 2 hours later, not a single person called back. We contacted local hotels to see if we could get a room for the night, but there was nothing available. We finally decided to strip the bedsheets and cover the beds with clean towels and blankets so that we could get a good night's rest. The next morning, Shaniqua, from the Vacasa phone service and Dan, from their local office, reviewed our time-stamped photos. They did their best to remedy the situation by sending over a cleaning crew and offering one night's refund. Vacasa's lack of an immediate response upon our arrival at night caused indescribable distress. We were fearful that whoever was in the home would return while we were sleeping. We also had to spend 4 hours out of the home the next day so that it could be cleaned. One night's refund wasn't enough to remedy what we had gone through. Vacasa, you could have done better and you MUST do better in future to address the needs of your customers. There's no point of an after-hours phone number if there's no intention to help your customers after hours. I'm warning other travelers to stay clear of Vacasa properties until they fix these issues.
This house is in the absolute perfect location on AMI. Right on spring street but tucked away and private surrounded by trees. Everything was super clean when we arrived and there were plenty of towels. The pool is gorgeous, clean, and warm. The only things we felt this home was missing was more pool furniture (only two loungers and a table provided) and a larger table with more seating on the front balcony, and furniture of any kind of the back balcony. We would have spent a lot more time at the pool had there been more furniture to hang out on. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay as a family of 5 and would return - hoping that more outdoor furniture can be added!
