Hanalei Bay Resort 8233 four

Last year we stayed on the east side of Kauai and this year we wanted to try Hanalei Bay Resort. The property and condo were much better than I expected. I told my family to manage their expectations as we had a gorgeous condo last year. They walked in the condo, were immediately in love with the place and felt right at home. There are some unexpectedly challenging hills throughout the property. Luckily HBR will pick you up on a golf cart and take you anywhere you need to go (including the beach). The condo had some fun stuff like snorkeling gear that the family really enjoyed using. We rented them daily last year so this was such a wonderful surprise. My favorite part of the trip were mornings in the condo drinking coffee and reading on the lanai with the most beautiful view. I hope to return to this beautiful condo.

The views are amazing. Property is gorgeous. Pools, beach, restaurants--quite nice. Unfortunately the maintenance dept. does not prioritize their customers problems. We had an overflowing toilet. Maintenance came out, didn't have a snake and instead of getting one and fixing it right away, they said they'd come back the next day. Guy did not come back the next morning and I had to call them to come back. Another guy came out who also did not have a snake and didn't fix the problem. I believe a snake would be a standard plumbing tool to have on hand at a large resort? A third guy came back 24 hrs after our initial call, with a snake, and fixed the problem. This is not the way I want to spend my time on vacation--working overtime to get a toilet fixed. Vacasa provided a small financial refund amounting to one-eighth what we paid for that one night, at a very expensive condo, which was a nice gesture but not equal to the problem encountered. In spite of this, our stay here was enjoyable as the location can't be beat. But will I return? Haven't decided.

This was by far the best condo we have stayed in. Had all the amenities and amazing view! The condo had games, snorkel gear, boogie boards, vacuum and plenty of extra blankets and pillows. It was also extremely clean.

This is a great unit at a lovely resort. The resort is one of our favorites, nice but not too fancy, very homey, comfortable, and amazing location and views. Pool area is nice, the beach below is natural and beautiful, and overall great place to spend a week! The resort fee and parking fee are a bit expensive (in addition to the cost of the unit), but hey, it’s Kauai and Princeville, so to be expected. The unit itself is updated, clean, well-stocked, plenty of space, great balcony and views, and very comfortable; a home away from home and we loved every minute, thank you!

The place was perfect! Beautiful views, spacious had everything you needed, was clean and up to date. Zero complaints on the building and would definitely stay here again. However, it is a lot of walking to do anything, which we knew ahead of time, but after a week we were tired of it- wished we had tennis shoes just for that part. The grounds are pristine and the staff at the resort are all super kind and helpful! Very impressed. Only other negative- or kind of a negative would be their parking lot is quite small for the size of the property- there are some issues with that. But not anything that would make me not stay here. Just more of a pain than anything. Over all I would absolutely recommend and come back again.
