Islander on the Beach 354

This was our 3rd year in a row staying in this unit and loved it! The location is fabulous; Lava Lava Club next door and Coconut Market Place a 2 minute walk with grocery store, restaurants, shops and adventure rentals. This unit is right on the beach and the view is amazing!!! Great pool and tiki pool bar with a 3:00 - 6:00 Happy Hour that brings people together. We met people from all over that had great info on various recommendations to do on our trip. The Smith Luau was on our list this year. Well worth the money!!! Learned some history, met super fun people, enjoyed good food and drinks and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment! Highly recommend! Have a great trip as Kauai is beautiful!!!

Being right by the beach was wonderful and the gardens around the complex were gorgeous!

View for sure is the BEST THING EVER !! You can sleep with your doors open and hear the waves crash!!

Room 354, great ocean view but no AC, if that is important to you, which it is for me. This unit properly included power strips behind dresser for any tv connections and one by bedside for easy access. Room clean, provided shortbread cookies and trail mix and coffee. Room has pretty much anything need including 2 beach chairs and 1 fan which I did use since AC didn’t work and they provided a 2nd fan. 4 beach towels & 4 each bath, hand and wash cloth. Kitchenette towels, dish soap and sponge. Upon arrival there were 2- AC controls in room, there was a control on wall and one on dresser. Maintenance removed 2nd remote following day. Day after arrival, maintenance came and concluded AC compressor unit not working . Gave extra fan, indication is likely won’t be fixed while I’m here. I believe they knew unit wasn’t working as second remote was for portable AC unit maintenance indicated was previously used but blocks access to patio use which is selling point of unit in addition to AC. They gave me a small credit for no AC but I experienced smells of marijuana, then cigar smell which required me to close patio door in an already very warm unit. On two other days A woman below me was spray painting chairs and other furniture and fumes traveling to my room on windy days. Although receiving credit was appreciated, having a working AC is preferable and anyone who reserves room with AC should be advised before arrival if AC is not operational and offer acceptable alternative for informed decision.
