This property had several issues that were challenging to overlook. When we arrived we realized there was no cell service, which overall isn't a huge issue on vacation, however the WiFi was also not working at all. In our group we had one person trying to work a couple hours remotely, 2 young children and 2 elderly grandparents and frankly it felt like a safety issue not to have any way to get in touch with the world. We reached out to Vacasa that evening and were told a couple trouble shooting tips, and when those didn't work they suggested we call the internet provider ourselves, which doesn't exactly feel like the responsibility of a short term renter. My husband, who is extremely tech savvy, was able to get it functioning the following day after excessive time spent on the project. More problematic, was that during our say 2 of the 3 toilets in the house clogged, and one overflowed. We searched high and low for a plunger, however couldn't find one and reached out to Vacasa asking about the location, which we never heard back from. We ended up just buying a plunger and then 2 days later Vacasa delivered one to the door. 2 toilets clogging over a 4 day stay suggests some definite plumbing issues. The washer was extremely moldy, which I know is common with front loaders in humid climates, however it just felt like the property hasn't been lived in for a long time, and hasn't been maintained. The bikes are both broken, the beach gear is there, but most of it is broken or soiled. We used 2 boogie boards that were in good condition though. Because we were in beautiful Princeville, we didn't spend much time in the house itself, but overall we were fairly disappointed with the amenities.
The location is great. You can walk to Makai Gold and Tennis to work out and there are many beach choices available close by. There are also various activities like surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding nearby. I would plan ahead for restaurant reservations as those were hard to get during the holiday period.
