The Shack

The Shack was great it certainly met our needs in terms of space and having a nice kitchen, bedrooms, a nice porch and a garage that was very helpful for the work project that we were doing. The dacor, furniture and bathrooms and everything was great! And it was nice to walk a couple blocks to the rocky beach / bay— at the end of the day. Vacasa itself was pretty disappointing as there was a half a roll of paper towels, a stinky sponge and minimal tp (basically what was on the rolls for a 13k plus stay for a couple weeks and when asked by them if there was anything we needed — we were met with sorry we don’t supply extra Tp and paper towels which is fine I get it — but at least provide from the beginning a supply that approximates our needs for the two weeks we were going to be there — in 25+ years of traveling — I’ve never had such a low bar of service — meanwhile the rest of the home was well appointed with towels, laundry detergent, spices, soap, shampoo etc. So for VACASA to come up a day late - dollar short was kinda pathetic and makes me question using them again.

This home was absolutely gorgeous and beautifully laid out. From the moment we arrived, it felt inviting, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. We especially enjoyed the picnic table outside — it was the perfect spot to relax, share meals, and soak in the surroundings. One of our favorite features was the open-air flow between the lanai and the living room. That seamless indoor-outdoor concept made the space feel even larger and allowed us to truly enjoy the island breeze. The bedroom AC units worked great and kept the rooms cool and comfortable. While the main living area didn’t necessarily need AC, the house cooled down nicely with the doors closed and the fan running, making it very comfortable overall. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed, which made cooking easy and enjoyable. Parking was more than sufficient for several cars, which made arrival and coming and going very convenient. The location is also wonderful — just a short walk down to the bay, making it easy to enjoy the water and beautiful scenery. We absolutely loved this home and the time we spent there. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing and memorable stay, and we would happily return again.

Space exactly where you need it. Beds were very comfortable and everything was within a short drive. Awesome place

This house was perfect for three couples. We spent a lot of time on the patio playing games and laughing. It is close to all the key spots in Kona and has access to some nice walking paths.

Having lived on the Big Island for 42 years, to vacation in Keauhou was awesome! It's so close to everything and this house made having all the siblings together very easy.
