Vacasa Unit Amenities Rating: Washer/Dryer: ❌ Not available — essential for a comfortable stay, especially for longer visits. Kitchen (Pots, Pans, Equipment): ⚠️ Poor — cookware was dirty, which is unacceptable for guest use. Wi-Fi/Internet: ⚠️ Limited — went out for an entire day, impacting convenience and usability. Pest Control: ❌ Unsafe experience — termite treatment was scheduled in the kitchen during our stay, making it uncomfortable and concerning to have children around while chemicals were being applied. Air Conditioning: ⚠️ Limited — AC effectively cools only the main area and master bedroom; guest room does not have adequate air conditioning. View: ✅ Excellent — the scenery from the unit was beautiful and a highlight of the stay. Customer Service: ❌ Very poor — multiple delays, lack of resolution, and minimal proactive communication caused significant frustration. Overall Experience: ⚠️ Mixed — while the view was amazing, the combination of missing appliances, unclean kitchen items, unsafe pest control scheduling, limited AC, unreliable Wi-Fi, and poor service significantly impacted comfort and enjoyment. Summary: The unit offers a stunning view but falls short in cleanliness, safety, comfort, and customer support. Improvements are urgently needed in appliance availability, kitchen maintenance, safety scheduling, AC coverage, and service responsiveness to meet basic guest expectations.
Weve been taking trips to Kona for 25 years. This had the best view! To the left was surfers from 6 am until dark. Right in front of the lanai was tide pools. We had a green turtle sunbathing on the 3rd day, right there off our lanai. Amazing sunsets! The condo had high end tile work and granite counter tops. The bed was heavenly. The air conditioning was excellent. Over 100 channels on the TV.
We had a good stay at Kona Bali Kai #319. The A/C was absolutely incredible, which is hard to find in this area and made a big difference in our comfort. The location is stunning, with beautiful ocean views. We were lucky enough to see Hawaiian spinner dolphins and humpback whales right from our lanai, which was truly unforgettable. Don’t miss the farmers market right next door on Fridays through Sundays—and be sure to try the sourdough bread next to the taco truck; it’s some of the best we’ve ever had! The dishwasher and washer worked well, but unfortunately the dryer did not work at all. One concerning issue occurred when I returned from a snorkel session a few miles away and found a man inside our unit, which was quite unsettling. He was apparently meant to be in unit 318. It appears that all maintenance staff share the same door code, which is not ideal from a security standpoint. On another note, I’m really bummed that Vacasa is ending its partnership with Wyndham.
