Overview
The award winning "H House", designed by George Heneghan, is truly one of Waikoloa's finest architectural specimens. In the shape of an H, the house is open and airy with walls of windows, vaulted ceilings and a unique lighting design. Enjoy natural, light all throughout this lovely spacious home. The chef of the group can prepare something tasty in the fully equipped kitchen with a kitchen island, five burner electric stove, and two ovens. If you'd rather grill, light up the gas grill on the lanai and enjoy the views. Gorgeous Maui sunset views will add an extra flavor to your dinner on the lanai. When you're not running off to the beach, take a dip in the shared pool! When you're done, toss the swimsuits into the private washer and dryer. What’s nearby: The community's large shared pool, tennis courts and golf course are only a half mile from the house. The Waikoloa Village Golf Club is just over a half mile away and offers 18 holes and multi-round play options for a guest fee. On the way to the beautiful Hapuna beach (13 miles from the home), guests can stop off at Puako Petroglyphs (10-and-a-half miles) and observe the work of Native Hawaiians from the past. The house is just a fifteen-minute drive from the Waikoloa Beach, the Marriott’s Spa, and several world-class golf courses. Explore the Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park, just 29 miles away. We are a returning renter and continue to really enjoy this home. Spacious, clean, and well appointed, it fits our group of 6 perfectly. The kitchen with center island is very convenient, and we love the large dining room that flows into the living room. The separation between living area and bedrooms is also really nice, allowing people to sleep soundly while others continue to play. And the large patio with BBQ and beautiful sunset views is always a favorite. We can't wait to come back again!
The views were great, and we love the lanai. Our elderly parents picked tangerines from your tree, and watch the egrets and turkeys every morning, and were filled with joy! The kitchen was very nicely organized, with lots of amenities, including spices in the pantry, so we did not have to pick any up on our own We didn’t go to the beach nor use the pool, but those amenities were there. We requested extra blankets and they responded very quickly. We would definitely come back here in the future Mahalo
We had high expectations for our stay. We spent almost $6000 on the house to stay a week. We got there and we kept hearing a beeping noise. It turns out it was the water heater beeping that it was off line. So no hot water when we checked in. They reset it in the AM. Back off line by the afternoon. No hot water until the following morning. Then beeping in the afternoon. We had NO hot water for the last few days days because they couldn’t send anyone out. And we have to listen to the incessant beeping noise all night. The water heater was in an area inaccessible to us, so we couldn’t reset it. We spoke to the tech when he came out the last time. We suggested replacing it. Technician said the owners didn’t want to spend the money. I gave them 2 weeks to refund my money and they gave us 10% back. For not having water every day and incessant beeping that kept everyone up. Not relaxing or nice at all. Horrible customer service. Otherwise, house was fine. Musty smelling with white furniture everywhere. Everything looked and felt old. Do not stay here.
This is the review anyone booking this house needs to read. As someone who travels to Hawaii at least 2x a year, booking houses or condos is no big deal. We decided for this trip to go to the Big Island. We have access to our own house accommodations when there however this time we had some friends coming so we wanted to book a house big enough for all of us. The pictures make you think you’re booking a fancy place……. We arrived to the house at 4:08pm as the house cleaner was getting into her car. We parked and got out and after a quick look at property…I honestly thought for the first time ever I was scammed. Brush pile in front yard, overgrown ivy tha stretched across doorway, burger king coupons, personal mail scattered. The tinting on windows was “cracked” so it appeared windows were broken. I was nervous to open the door thinking I wasn’t even suppose to be there. We walked in, the place itself is well kept up, and clean inside. Lots of room for kids, big bedrooms, the bathrooms are well stocked. The kitchen has everything you need, the living room looks nice but the couch is horrendous. Super awkward. NOW here’s the main reason for the review. On our second night we sat out on the lanai….and we started hearing RAT traps click along with a steady “beeping noise”, we looked down from the lanai and noticed a dead rat (huge rat) was caught, we reset the trap…WHAP (another one), and that wasn’t it…it went off 2 more times. We caught 4 rats, and found them running all over in the ivy and lattice below our lanai. The next day we had quick response to reset traps from VACASA, which was good. The steady beeping? a full rat trap that had been there…it was emptied when they came out and the beeping stopped. TWO rats were also on the roof. THIS HOUSE IS RAT INFESTED. the smell during the breeze if you’re in the yard or lanai, is DEAD rats! The response at the time was good, I wrote the vacasa manager after our stay about concerns and to see what could be offered (as our house stay made us feel so uneasy), and we first received “sorry” when I responded with more concern I was ghosted. There are plenty of other amazing condos and stays in Waikoloa. This house could be absolutely amazing but it needs work, landscaping and pest control.
Loved the spotless clean home, felt very comfortable walking barefoot on the clean tile and lounging on the large red living room set. Bedrooms were clean and very comfortable with clean sheets. The entire home was spacious with beautiful balcony views. We stayed in late April and with the fans on, it was quite cool, especially at night. This beautiful home home made our vacation more enjoyable after spending long days sightseeing and coming home tired to a clean home and resting… Everything you need is in this beautiful home to include washer and dryer which was very nice to return home with a clean clothes and not such stinky luggage. Thank you and well done.
The house has plenty of space for 6 to 8 people . Seating is nostalgic but not conducive to sitting about. Could use a few interior chairs.
