Vacasa at Hotel Molokai 202

I stayed for a week in room 202 in Hotel Molokai (Molokai, Hawaii). My unit is privately owned and managed by Vacasa. I paid $281/night for the end of December and it was NOT worth it. The unit is in dire need of a deep clean and upgrades. The kitchen cupboards and sink need replacement as well as the tub. The hotel grounds are beautiful, the staff lovely, and the beds/linens were awesome! But the hotel itself is old (1968) and worn out. The onsite restaurant and gift shop are empty. It is the only hotel on Molokai and I was concerned about renting a condo as I didn’t know how much support I’d need on this outer island. As it turns out I didn’t get that much support from Hotel Molokai as my unit was managed by Vacasa. This unit would have been OK if it were priced much less ($100/night). There are many condo units for rent on Molokai that are WAY better at about half what I paid. Shop Airbnb and Vrbo, I wish I had. I felt safe, I had a good time, but I overpaid for what I got.

Went with a group of 8 people. Booked two rooms, this was one of them. Overall pleasant stay. Room was clean. Lanai was spacious. Wifi was inconsistent.

The grounds in general facility of the Hotel Molokai is beautiful and pleasing into the eye. Great whale watching lovely swimming pool. The particular condo unit was tight quarters for 4. Beds were very comfortable. Unusual design, but let a lot of fresh air in. The curtains to the lanai, let a lot of air blow through. However, with the lights on they were almost transparent the Neighbor unit if it was occupied would’ve been able to see into the whole room, the food at the hotel restaurant was delicious. It’s conveniently located to the main town of Kanakakai.

I loved being right in the middle of the island with the ability to drive to all the wonderful experiences in less than 30 mins and historical buildings. Being close to food feeling far away from it all Molokai is definitely one of the best places to visit. You have to book a hike and culture experience with HALAWA valley falls cultural hike. There’s so much to learn about the culture and there’s no place better than the source! I’ll be back to this island again in the future with my Ohana one day for sure! Central located , well equipped and really helpful to have all the toiletries , beach towels and white bedding ! Super clean ! Also hotel Molokai has the best restaurant on island with ocean view and delicious food for an incredible dinner experience !!! Super recommend and I will be back !
