We did not have WiFi for the first 24 hours of our stay. I reported the issue immediately after check-in, but it was only resolved after 24 hours — and only after I requested a refund. That means we were without WiFi for more than one-third of our 66-hour booking, which is significant — especially since reliable internet was listed as an amenity. Even after it was restored, the connection was extremely poor. I had work commitments and was forced to leave the property and go to Starbucks to complete my work because the WiFi was unusable. Given the circumstances, I believe a partial refund is reasonable. Apart from that, good location and beach access.
Fun, enjoyable weekend getaway with a little bit of everything!
Eric at vacasa was wonderful and a great help. We went to the office in Kihei. The asst manager on property as well as vacasa site person . View excellent. difficult use of tv. clean and just needs some updating. thank you for all your help.
booked a quick weekend stay at Unit 211B, having stayed at Mana Kai many times before. Overall, this condo is a mix of positives and drawbacks. The positives: The unit actually looks better in person than in the photos. It was neat, tidy, and much cleaner than I expected after reading some of the other reviews. The bathroom was spotless, and the bedroom was well stocked. The mini fridge includes a small freezer, which made it easy to keep drinks and fruit cold. The location is unbeatable—you’re right on one of the best reefs directly accessible from the beach, with a general store in the building and restaurants in Kihei about a 20-minute walk away. Wailea is an easy 5-minute drive. This is truly a fantastic base to enjoy the area. The drawbacks: 211B is essentially a “lock-off” portion of Unit 211, so you’ll need two codes: one for the main entry and one for your door. You can hear activity from the A unit and share a narrow hallway with its guests. The view is of the parking lot, and because the walkway runs right outside your window, expect foot traffic and little privacy unless you keep the blinds closed. The microwave didn’t function properly and likely needs replacing. The biggest disappointment was parking. The listing stated there was one designated spot, but the confirmation email instructed us to park in the gravel lot across the street. This lot isn’t part of Mana Kai, it serves as public beach parking, and it gets crowded—much less convenient than the resort lot. At one point, our door code stopped working. Fortunately, Vacasa’s after-hours support was excellent—they answered right away and provided a new code on the spot. The unit lacks a dining setup. There’s only a desk with one chair pushed against the window, making it awkward to eat. You’ll either take turns, balance on the bed, or sit on the floor. Bottom line: If location and cleanliness are your top priorities, 211B delivers. But if you’re expecting parking convenience, privacy, or a true condo setup, be prepared for some trade-offs. Having stayed in other Mana Kai units, I’ve experienced better layouts and amenities at a similar price point.
The hotel room was easy to find and get into and was in a great location but the room was dirty. The walls had holes that were “patched” and the bathroom was very gross. The shower was old and stained and the shower head was crusted over. Overall was an okay stay.
