Overview

This Georgia retreat has it all! Listen to Wildcat Creek babbling right nearby, relax on the screened porch with a glass of lemonade, or explore some of this property's two-and-a-half wooded acres. Appealing to families and lovers of the great outdoors (Chattahoochee National Forest borders the property), this Clarkesville cabin is sure to please. Up to eight guests will love staying here, far from the hustle and bustle but surrounded by plenty of things to do. Back home, bring your catch of the day to the grill on the lower deck, or put the well-stocked full kitchen and its gas stove to work. You can dine in the fresh air out on the porch or in the warmth and comfort of this cabin's contemporary interior. The wood-burning fireplace will keep you toasty during your stay, and free WiFi, cable TV, and a DVD player will keep the whole group entertained. And for a fun change of pace, head to the lower-level game room for air hockey or darts. What's nearby: If you're up for some fishing, you don't need to step more than a few paces from your door for trout in the creek, (but please note that a fishing license and separate trout license required). If you travel a bit further down West Wildcat Road, you'll see many waterfalls along the way, and just a half-mile from the cabin is Sliding Rock, a favorite local spot in the summer. You'll also be just a mile-and-a-half from beautiful Lake Burton with its freshwater fishing and boat rentals and docks. Things to know: Game room w/ game table, dartboard, flatscreen TV, and air hockey table

Had a wonderful time will be back next year

Rustic and perfect for base for hiking or exploring the mountains. Very quiet and tucked away in nature. Kitchen is well stocked for guests. Great board games and a screened porch for listening to the river.

The location of this house is fantastic. It is creek side which is really special. Out the front door and 250 feet to the left is an amazing state park with miles of trails. You’ll see waterfalls, the creek, it’s really beautiful. The house is comfortable enough. It’s the location that really makes the place special.

Privacy, well stocked cabin. Total comfort.

We loved the location and setting. The house accommodated our party of 6 very well. It has a great open floor plan with personal space for everyone. We had a great time with the provided games and game room. The back porch and direct access to the backyard creek was so very peaceful. The dust on the drapes, windows and furniture increased the musty smell of the home. It is older and desperately needs some updating and a deep cleaning. The pipes don’t seem to leak, but there is obvious water damage in the ceiling. We appreciated the fresh, clean tasting well water and the non fragrance washing detergents. With that said, the plug ins were nauseating. We removed them immediately from inside the house and opened the windows to air out the rooms. Unfortunately, this didn’t work as quickly as we’d have liked and we had to sleep with open windows. That wasn’t awful because we love the creek sound, but the windows were dirty and the breeze blew dust and bugs into the house. We managed. These are the previously stated reasons for negative comments.

We had a amazing time. The grandkids loved the game room and all the games. The house is beautifully decorated and lots of room. The sound of the creek running behind it was amazing. We will definitely be going back.
