Hello, I am writing in hopes that this message reaches someone with the authority to review my case and help resolve what was, without question, the worst vacation rental experience my wife and I have encountered. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the property had not been properly cleaned or prepared for guests. The smell inside the unit was overwhelming. Trash containing rotten food had apparently been left for some time, creating an odor so unpleasant that we immediately considered relocating. As we continued inspecting the property, we found numerous additional issues, including: Hair on the bathroom floor Mold on the bathroom ceiling Missing light bulbs Dirt and debris throughout the unit Multiple pieces of broken furniture The condition of the property was far below any reasonable expectation and certainly did not match the standards represented by VRBO. Unfortunately, the response from the property management company only made matters worse. When I requested that someone come inspect the odor firsthand, I was told, "I can't drive down there just to smell a smelly place." That response alone demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and concern. Eventually, a cleaner was sent, but the condition of the property was such that my wife and I had no choice but to go to the store, purchase nearly $100 in cleaning supplies, and clean the unit ourselves in order to make it livable. While we were reimbursed for those supplies, that reimbursement does not address the fact that we paid for a vacation rental and instead spent part of our trip performing basic cleaning duties that should have been completed before our arrival.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Brighton condo is an absolute masterpiece—a living museum and a sacred time capsule dedicated to the golden era of Alaskan mountain culture. I am intentionally skipping the original family’s names to respect their privacy, but exploring the inscribed trophies and vintage memorabilia on the walls was the highlight of our stay. The couple who built this home did an immeasurable service to the Girdwood ski community, making the world a better place through their local leadership and dedication to youth racing. Staying in a space preserved so beautifully as a tribute to that legacy felt like an incredible privilege. The walls house incredible history, including a 1994 Olympic print autographed by local legend Tommy Moe on the day he won gold, authentic Austrian and Swedish team pennants, and artwork by Byron Birdsall and Barbara Lavallee. Beyond the history, the design is brilliantly cohesive, tying together vibrant orange accents (from the kMix toaster to the plush Murphy bed) with premium amenities like a Braun grinder, Bodum French press, and Zwilling knives. Tucked in a quiet, forested nook just minutes from Hotel Alyeska and the Sitzmark, it’s the ultimate base camp. Thank you to the hosts for keeping this beautiful family spirit alive. We left with inspired hearts and will absolutely be back!

The unit was everything I expected. Under snowcapped mountains, beside rushing stream. Best was - wife had never seen moose in wild - one morning two walking around just 20 ft off our deck!
