Beautiful
This was a beautiful home with an amazing view. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well stocked, and the decor was very calming. Did I mention the view? We couldn’t get enough. Also very conveniently located to the Main Street of town. The only issue was a strange smell the whole time that we couldn’t locate or remedy. We informed the managers and they said they’d look into it, so hopefully it’s addressed before the next renters. It was fine as long as we kept a door open but with all the doors closed it was really strange and noticeable. Like maybe there was a dead bird on the roof or rats in the attic. That sort of smell. A few other things to be aware of but that definitely weren’t deal breakers: as many other reviewers have noted, the living room furniture is extremely uncomfortable. We thought reviewers were exaggerating, but they weren’t. Also the house has ants. Mostly in the kitchen but also we noticed them in the front bedroom. They warned us, so not a big deal but you have to be really diligent in the kitchen because they appear at the slight hint of food. Overall we enjoyed it and would stay again as long as the smell is gone!
View is spectacular.
Perfect location - easy to walk into town, along the beach or short drive to the coastal trails and Hearst Castle!
The location is wonderful - Cayucos is quieter than Morro Bay and Cambria, but also close to everything. The sound of the ocean and walking proximity to the beach were highlights of our stay. Despite minor complaints (the wifi wasn't great; the house was a bit musty), we really enjoyed the house and would definitely stay there again.
Location in the ocean.
