Overview

License number: 2025-STR-1040.This adorable cabin has been completely remodeled on the inside and out and is less than 20 miles from the Wolf Creek Ski area and surrounded by thousands of acres of national forest, this is a true gem! Inside, the all-wood interior, comfortable furniture, and lots of western cowboy themes. The homeowners are related to Charles Goodnight, whose incredible story was the basis for the Lonesome Dove Saga and the pride and heritage of this western favorite are apparent in every corner of this rustic home. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and the second room has two double beds. You'll have a private washer/dryer available to take care of everyone's dirty laundry, so you can afford to pack light for your trip, and the free WiFi makes researching a new recipe quick and easy. Good thing too, because the full kitchen is well-equipped with stainless steel appliances, beautiful cookware, and ample counter space to make tonight's home-cooked meal a joy to prepare. Serve your guests at the wood dining table while the dishwasher knocks out the dirty dishes. The furnished patio will make an evening of stargazing a delightful experience.

Cute little cabin !

Brad B2026-02-23

The cabin has most everything you need. Unfortunately we ran into a few issues which likely would not happen to anyone else who would stay here again but it did to us this weekend. We are hoping the owners will respond accordingly. The cabin was 47 degrees on our arrival due to no baseboard heat being turned on for us. Also the fireplace in the living room would run the fan but not heat until the next morning. We basically slept with it being 50-58 degrees while waiting for baseboard heat to heat up the cabin overnight. We lost water after 2 showers our first night. We had to go buy replacement fuses for the well fuse disconnect we knew had a bad fuse. Maintenance did respond quickly however after we placed the call in the morning. I would not hesitate to stay here again even with the issues we were faced with as it is a very comfortable place to stay once all the normal heat and water was working properly.

Very clean. Trash disposal isn't very clear if you're not from the area. Beds were super hard. Master room ceiling fan although nice was making ticking noise which kept us up throughout night. Something was beeping in bathroom didn't know how to reset purifier or whatever was on the wall but it was blinking when we got there which I thought was normal. Didn't remember hearing this the last two times we stayed there.
