The Retreat at Grand Lake

Our time at this house was absolutely wonderful. Working with the management company to checking in with the great directions to the property made for a wonderful week. The house had all of the amenities that you would need. Master Bedroom bed was so comfortable and we are both very picky sleepers. We had planned on going out to dinner a few nights but the house had everything that we needed to cook amazing meals so we just enjoyed our time in the Retreat. Having the movie setup downstairs was so nice to spend our evenings relaxing in the loungers and watching our movies on a big screen. The views are some of the most spectacular views that I've ever enjoyed when visiting a rental property. Most days I would turn the rocking chair around and read my book and just enjoy the views. Sitting on the decks that pretty much wrap around the entire house allows you to enjoy the beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains. I highly recommend this Retreat for anyone looking for a wonderful - relaxing - time away in the beautiful Colorado Mountains.

Best part of this house was the views. You wouldn’t want me to drone on about everything else wrong with it. It could be exceptional but it’s not.

I was worried about cleanliness given a previous review. It was clean! But, the house was not well maintained. Broken door knob, clogged tub, 2 leaking showers and a dead battery in a smoke detector. Beautiful views and lots of beds, so good for a big group

Great View and location Comfy beds

The scenery is amazing. The fire pit on the back deck was fun to use! There were 12 people in our party and there was plenty of extra clean beds. There was plenty of hot water for everyone. I loved all the decks around the house!

I shared all this in my direct feedback to the property mgr, but I think it's important to note that this property is doing the bare minimum as it relates to hosting short-term stays. It's very evident they do not want to invest and/or provide some basic essentials that you would expect. For example, there were no paper towels, no facial tissue, the bed sheets were pilled, and there was only 1 fan in the house despite no central A/C. The property itself has beautiful views and a great location to the marina, but it was disappointing that we paid what we did and it was evident the owner/property mgmt company are just enjoying your $$ without providing some basics such as these aka having the guests in mind vs just the $$ they get from you to use it for 48 hours.
