Great location and excellent staff service

Abby M2025-07-08

As soon as we got there we noticed the unit smelled terrible. The smell didn’t go away. It got worse when we ran the dryer. There is no insulation in the unit. We heard every single thing in the unit above us (which was two floors above). The master bed felt like a solid board, so my husband slept on the couch while I slept in my kid’s bed. We were tired and had sore necks during the whole trip thanks to the uncomfortable sleeping arrangements and hearing everything upstairs. The unit felt dirty and not taken care of. The clocks were wrong and picture frames were crooked. The kitchen was minimally stocked. The garage and the pool were the only pluses.

The condo was very nice. The shuttle to and from the slopes was very convenient. Only thing that could have been better was the hot water situation. We were a party of 5 but the water got ice cold after the 3rd person showered.

Great location. Nice to have a shuttle service. The place is just so old, outlets dont work, furniture’s all beat up, the closet in the second bedroom is unacceptable because they have a bed right in front of it so there’s nowhere to store any of your clothing. Throw rugs needed to be replaced, I’m definitely not staying in this unit again.

We typically stay at The Grand when in Steamboat, but it is under renovation until the later part of 2024. The Phoenix I Condo Complex provided excellent accommodations for our Labor Day Weekend Get-A-Way. Unit #109 had an attached garage -- was nice to know I would not be searching for a parking space (typically blocks or more away) late at night or hauling items / groceries after an extensive hike from the car. It is conveniently located within walking distance (a couple blocks / 1/4 mile) from the Gondola and right next to (walk) a couple eateries. Only a 5–7-minute drive into downtown for more eats, shopping, fishing, river fun, hot springs, etc. The full kitchen came in handy and was nicely set up with pass through cabinets from kitchen to TV room. The furniture was dated and worn but served the purpose for a relaxing weekend. The beds in the bedrooms downstairs were comfortable - the main bedroom (one queen bed) was roomy and comfortable -- bedroom 2 (Twin bed with double sized bunk bed) was pretty much the door and the beds with a bathroom. Unit #109 does not have AC -- it was uncomfortably hot (87F) when we checked in at 10:30PM. We opened all the windows and got fans running - it took about three (3) hours to get the temperature into the high 70s - but once we got the temperature down to 68-71F it stayed there for all three days.
