Respect for Wildlife: Summit County is blessed with a diversity of wildlife, including bears, elk, moose, mountain lions, marmots, bighorn sheep, mountain goats and beavers. It can be exciting to view Colorado's wildlife, but it is important to do so at a safe distance. Most dangerous and potentially harmful encounters with wildlife occur because people fail to leave animals alone. Wildlife should not be harassed, captured, domesticated or fed. Intentional or inadvertent feeding is the major cause of most wildlife problems. It is illegal in Colorado to intentionally place or distribute feed, salt blocks or other attractants for large animals.

The location is perfect in Silverthorn and next to hiking trails
Good location, home needs some updating and maintenance.
This is a 1974 building with all that comes with it. It has a charming open interior core and the unit has a cute loft area that kids will love! Heat worked perfectly and there is a very useful drying plenum where you can dry a half-dozen pairs of boots, gloves, and helmets all at the same time. The shared hot tub/pool/sauna area is well-maintained. It gets busy after 4:30, so plan accordingly.
The fireplace has no outlet to plug in. Once we found an extension chord to put across the entire room, we quickly found out that it does not work which in turn, did not allow the boot warmers to work. We were provided 3 towels for 6 guests making showers challenging as well as not being able to use the pool / hot tub that was supposed to be a part of our experience. The shower fan did not work, just made extremely loud noises. We were provided 2 rolls of toilet paper for a 3 night stay with 6 people. Once finished, we realized there was no back up available....We reached out multiple times on these issues and received no support. Other than 3 extra towels provided on our last night stay. Absolutely unacceptable.
We visited for a ski trip and didn't spend much time in the place, but it was clean and provided the basics needed for cooking. The hot tub was very hot and nice to soak in.
Maybe I have just gotten lucky with other rentals but this one felt… dirty. Lots of hair around (like on the rugs, in the shower), a gummy worm and marker were discovered next to the couch which just made it feel like it hadn’t been cleaned. Burnt out light bulbs, broken fans, dirty carpet. TVs aren’t connected to anything, and the WiFi gave out almost immediately. Sheets were rough. All that being said, it’ll do. It’s liveable. I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend or stay there again but it was fine.
