The view was lovely and the house was ideally located if you are looking to be located between Durango and Mesa Verde/Cortez. However, until the issue with the flies is resolved. I would not recommend staying here. The entire upstairs, and one bedroom in particular (including bedding) was covered with dead flies. We were told this information would be passed to the local team, but we never heard directly from them. It was rather disgusting and took quite some time to vacuum, making me wonder how recently it had been cleaned. Live flies were also a problem, pointing to the need for a fly trap at minimum and possibly extermination. This put a real damper on what would have otherwise been a nice rental.

This place was perfect situation, facing the mountain range off the road that leads into La Plata Canyon with multiple waterfalls within a few miles. This house was big enough to comfortably accommodate 6 people with lounge seating for everyone to decompress after long days of sight seeing and hiking. I would highly recommend this house as your home away from home.
