I wanted to voice my concerns privately but I could not hit submit without a public review. The house is dated but very clean. The internet is unusable at 1.8MB/S speed. TV remotes and TV were not setup for use prior to arrival.

The house is in a great location, close to downtown and to get around the Durango area. Set back from the road and quiet with a great view!

The house was quiet and higher up with a great view of the snowy LaPlatas. It is also minutes from from downtown.

It was tucked away so nicely in the mountain side so you feel secluded but still close to everything. We loved the home and had the best time. The WiFi barely worked which was fine with us since we like to be “off grid” but that’s the only negative I can think of for someone else: great home! Thank you!!

There are pros and cons with this property. The view was great, sits up high, the location is great, especially if you have a son or daughter attending Fort Lewis. But there are also some drawbacks, especially in colder weather where you dont get to enjoy the benefits of the outdoors or view it offers. Finding the place was difficult, Google and Waze maps get it wrong, Apple maps gets it right, but they call it a different address. Parking is very restricted and there is limited turn around space, so if you have multiple vehicles, families, or people coming, make sure you plan and view the parking arrangement. For colder/wet weather, the lower parking stairs ice up and there is no lighting, so be careful. The house appears to have a rodent problem, there are multiple rodent traps in the house and also multiple wall plugins for ultra-sonic rodent devices. The house is older and furnishings are data, yes its cozy, but almost too cozy and lived in. Lots of rules and your lower neighbors are watching you in case you decide to break any rules, they will let the homeowner know, which is stated in your check-in instructions. Internet wasnt great, slighting confusing due to 2 different wifi options, Verizon 5G we found was better than the CenturyLink internet. The amenities were good, pots, pans, silverware, all kitchen stuff was great, including the dishwasher and various spices, cleaners, soap, etc. Inside is a little beat up and could use some TLC, I get it, its a rental, but it needs some maintenance. Bedrooms were spacious, plenty of towels. I believe this would be a great place during the warmer weather, needs a few tweaks for the colder weather. I would consider renting again in the warmer weather, but the steep driveway and parking would having me questioning my decision and who was staying. I hope the homeowner considers all of the other feedback I left and make some adjustments. I know how hard it can be to maintain a vacation rental, so I dont want this to be a negative review, but I also dont want it to be positive, its a neutral and honest review, which is why its getting a 3.
