We loved this home. The hot tub was a plus. We also loved being so close to the river. A great place for a family to gather. We also loved being such a close drive to the ski resort.
1. the water smelled like sewage the entire time. When we called about it we were told it would take time for the water to filter. The water never "filtered." The water was also "slimy feeling" 2. we did not feel safe drinking it, we all used bottled water to hand wash bottles and sippy cups, for cooking and brushing teeth. 3. Some showered however if someone was showering and someone else turned on the water in another part of the house the shower stopped. Very little to no water pressure. 3. The hot tub was not working the first night, after it was fixed we did not go in due to the dirtiness. 4. Unacceptable to have to drive far to throw away trash in the assigned bin. 5. As this home was advertised to sleep many you can imagine the water issue and the trash being a big problem. 6. No upkeep of the BBQ grill. It caught fire when we started it. We put the fire out and found burnt hamburgers were in the bottom of the grill and had caused the fire. 7. There was also no propane. We filled the tank The home is nice and spacious however the basics that are needed on a daily basis do not exist.
We loved the house and location for our group ski trip! We chose this house because of the two living areas, and the photos don’t really show the spaciousness of the house. The kitchen was well-stocked and had a lot of space for our groceries. We enjoyed using the hot tub, and the Wi-Fi worked well for everyone. One thing we wish we had known was that the water there has a very strong sulfur smell—truly permeates the air and even though it’s safe, we didn’t want to use that water for coffee, making ice in the trays, etc. Just something to consider as you plan your trip.
Easy access to major attractions
It's our second time renting this place. So it's clear we really like it. The first time we had problems with the water system/ showers and with the Jacuzzi, which was promptly resolved by the local team. We were pleased to come back and realized they fixed all the problems and everything was in great working condition. Our only concern is that they were very stingy with toilet paper, paper towel and dishwasher soap. There was no mention on the pre check in email and we didnt have problems last time we stayed there. We ran out of toilet paper on the last day because they didnt have enough replacements (there was only 1 upstairs which was catering to 4 people). With the dishwasher soap, I understand they dont want people to over use it or waste, but they should have at least 1 per day. There was only 3 packets and on the last day they email asking us to run the dishwasher upon check out.... with what!? We paid more this year for less days and we couldnt have enough toilet papers!? (not to mention toilet papers were also very thin and the cheapest quality) Very disappointing. It would be lovely if the towels were larger, like the towels provide for the jacuzzi. Also, Other than that, great property.
We love visiting Colorado. This house has a nice covered front porch to set & drink coffee in the cool morning air while enjoying the mountain views & deer as they run across the yard. The back has a covered area complete with a large hot tub. Inside the great room it has the mountain feel with wood flooring & walls with a nice leather sectional & recliner. For the extra cold days there is a wood heater in the great room to make it really cozy. The large master bedroom is on the main floor also. The turquoise kitchen cabinets gave a taste of fun & brightness to this area along with a large sink, dishwasher & good vent over the electric stove. A long Mission style table to comfortably seat 8 was perfect! Our 7 grandchildren had plenty of rooms to sleep & a nice place to sit on the open second story deck with outdoor stairs that lead you down to the front porch. We had a wonderful time staying at the Rio Grande River Lodge in South Fork Colorado!
