There were deer several times a day that came for a visit
We enjoyed this house- 2 adults, 2 teen boys. It's a good thing the boys are fit- the staircase is STEEP! The layout was fantastic for us. Very clean, and beds were comfortable. The fireplace warmed the house adequately, although the room with 2 twins upstairs had trouble getting heat (no plug in that room for the extra heater provided). We couldn't get the TV in the primary bedroom to work. Kitchen was a bit small but had mostly all the things we needed. Loved the main room where we all could hang out together in the evenings. Would stay again!
We rented the cabin for a ski trip in February. It is very homey and clean. Nicely supplied kitchen and very clean house. Two things that need improvement. One is an easy fix, more warm blankets are needed for the winter months because the comforters are very light and useful only for the summer. The second problem is the none existing ventilation in the kitchen. Any cooking activity, from frying eggs to baking dinner will trigger the smoke alarms. If you bring your own blankets and do not do any cooking everything will be fine.
This is a nice, well maintained property. It looked like the pictures, so no surprises. If you want to be in South Fork to get to places to play outdoors (like Wolf Creek), this is a great choice. We had 5 adults and it was just the right amount of space.
