The home is on one bucolic acre and was built in 1801 for Waitsfield's first Minister, Reverend Salisbury. The original, hand-hewn beams run through the entirety of the home, and the present-day barn sits in the exact location of the original. There, you can enjoy a family gathering space with foosball and games - yard size Connect 4, darts, croquet, ping-pong, foosball, and poker table. Settle down and enjoy a book from our library in our cosy reading nook complete with portable heaters and a mini fridge under the stairs. There are doors on every sleeping space and the dining room for complete privacy. There's a full kitchen with a breakfast bar, a separate coffee/tea bar complete with complementary amenities, sunny dining room that seats everyone comfortably with additional tables and seating, fully updated bathroom with ample storage and a vanity, and a cozy living area featuring plush couches, a smart TV, a gas stove for those chilly nights, and air-conditioning that keep the first floor cool and comfortable. All three bedrooms have a box fan beneath each bed if needed. There's whole-home high-speed internet with internet boosters which will give you full performance no matter where you are inside. There is plenty of bandwidth for streaming and video calls so you should be good for work/playInternet. The home includes a remote workspace with an electric sit-stand desk and a 34' ultrawide monitor. Spend the evening gathered around the firepit, enjoying the spectacular 180-degree sunset, and showering off at the outdoor shower underneath the stars while listening to nature sounds including a nearby babbling brook (season-dependent). My family and I loved the newly renovated cleanliness paired with the old-timey style charm of Historic Valley View’s accommodations. The added little touches like the knitting basket, art supplies, game room and stacked rock souvenirs, made this stay memorable. We will definitely be returning to see the beautiful views during another season.

Great little spot! I lived just down the road from this cottage for many years, and they did an excellent job renovating it, and making it super comfortable!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Homestead. Had some rain but were able to fit in an outdoor fire. Inside was decorated simple and sweet. Very comfortable
