Rating
The common spaces in Unit 2 are good for large gatherings.
Maplewood Manor suited our needs perfectly! Our daughter and her 2 kids and her in-laws stayed in unit 2, while we and another daughter stayed in unit 1. There was just the right amount of beds. We could easily go back and forth between the units. Both units were clean and well appointed. We really appreciated that we didn't have to lug linens along on the trip. The toiletries were a nice touch, too. The steep steps in unit 1 were a bit of a challenge but we managed. The location was perfect for where we were going (Maquam Barn and Winery). All in all, it was a great weekend! Thanks for sharing your house!
Would not recommend this house in the summer- no A/C and hot even with fans. There are not screens on all bedroom windows so couldn’t be opened without worry of mosquitos. Bathroom situation weird- no bathroom on bedroom level in one unit (both down steep narrow stairs). Second unit had no bathroom on main floor. Parking good, living rooms fine. Appliances in kitchen like the coffee maker would trip its circuit. Unit one had a musty smell.
Lots of room for a large group.
I appreciated how whenever I asked a question prior to our arrival I received a prompt answer. The house was big enough to fit 12 of us, which we were happy about. It was more like two houses though- a duplex and we went back and forth between the two to visit each other. It could have used some love though. The gardens were all overgrown weeds. Mostly ragweed and goldenrod. Most of the windows had no screens. There was no air conditioning so it would have been really nice to be able to open some windows at night. It would not have hurt to have some window fans or air conditioners. The yard could have used some work. The little solarium could have been cute if it was fixed up. Also, we were told there was a coin washer and dryer but we couldn’t find one. Someone looked in the basement and there was a washer that was not hooked up down there. If you put just a little bit of work in this home it could be nice. It was old and run down but it had potential
