Rating
We enjoyed our stay in Cedar- it feels like going back in time. The cabin could have been cleaner and there were some small maintenance issues but overall the location and the rustic environment was worthwhile. The big screened porch is wonderful.
the island is very beautiful and peaceful. the building is an old camp and unfortunately was not very well maintained. There was two broken chairs and one collapsed the first night we were there. The bathroom was disgusting and clearly had not been cleaned in a while. the bath mat was dirty and stained. The kitchen floor and stove top was so dirty we felt compelled to perform a deep clean before using it. Given the cost to rent this rustic cabin we were expecting it to be clean. We were let down.
The island was wonderful, trails were fun to explore and the harbor water play area was great fun. The porch of the house is a great hang out area.
Rustic atmosphere. Wonderful staff!
Stayed last weekend it was open. House was a little chilly w/ no heating but luckily they had free firewood. Did some sailing, canoeing, hanging out on beach and checked out Burlington + Shelburne farms. Finn was an awesome caretaker, super nice. Definitely want to return!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Carl "the caretaker" Was Great!! I would suggest getting a dock in for guest use for boating. Also a picnic table or more chairs at the cabin would be helpful for cooking and relaxing outside. A TV would also be helpful on rainy days.
