Overview
You've earned this vacation, and you couldn't have chosen a sweeter spot than this family- and dog-friendly waterfront retreat on Estes Lake. Outside, you'll find lots of comfortable spaces for enjoying the lovely lake views – start the day with coffee on the waterfront deck or the brick patio down below. Take your time – you're on vacation. When you get hungry, head inside to make some breakfast. Windows throughout offer the same gorgeous view, and the open, bright space creates a feeling of togetherness. The full, well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to whip up a meal, and you can dine together at the window-front table for six.
Now it's time to explore, and no matter what time of year you visit, you'll be spoiled for choice. Warm weather offers fishing, boating, hiking, local farm stands, and exploration of the nearby Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. Autumn leaf peeping in this heavily forested area can't be beat, and in the winter, bring your cold-weather gear, because ice fishing, snowmobiling, and ice skating abound. Kennebunkport is less than 15 miles away and you'll find downtown Sanford only five minutes west, with great restaurants and shops to check out. Plan a trip to spend an afternoon at Wells Beach, just 14 miles away.
When you return, let the kids splash around on the small, sandy beach area while you fire up the gas grill. Have dinner alfresco at the picnic table, then stream your favorite shows while the electric fireplace keeps things cozy. End the night back outside around the fire pit, roasting marshmallows and telling stories about the perfect day you just had – and planning for another one tomorrow.

The view is spectacular ! Everything was comfortable. The kitchen had Everything we needed.
Our family of 5 (me, my husband, our two young adult sons, and my mom) stayed at this house over winter break. It was our home base while visting family in Maine and it worked really well. The scenery was gorgeous with the lake being frozen. The upstairs bath was great for my mom as it had a walk-in shower with a seat. Not sure how the lake/neighborhood is in the warmer months but it was very quiet while we were there.
We will definitely go here again. The house was great. Lots of room and it was very clean. The view out out the back is amazing and we were very comfortable staying here. We have family that lives locally and will definitely stay here again.
The pictures don’t lie. The setting is gorgeous and serene. The beds in this house were comfortable, the kitchen was adequately stocked. We really enjoyed our stay.
What a wonderful week we had in this nice home. It is bright and comfortable. The best part is that you have so much privacy on your very own beach. Sitting on the deck you feel like you're sitting right on the water. Magnificent views, sun rise and sunset. My dog had so much fun running in and out of the lake. I want to return next year. Can't say enough good things about this lovely home.
Booked a last minute trip for Memorial Day weekend. It was just myself, partner and dog. I think our dog had the most fun. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great. Actually it was extremely disappointing and I regretted the trip should have saved the money to go away on the 4th. Obviously I am the only one to blame for not checking the weather. It was high 70s before and after the trip. It would have been great if the weather was nicer.. awesome deck off the main floor with seating. Great view at sunset. There is a gate at the top of the stairs. I went to check on my dog, I thought he was laying on the side of the deck but when I went out there the gate was closed and he wasn't there. He's about 7lbs so apparently he was able to squeeze through the slats. No issues, he came back when called but worth noting if you have a tiny dog. He was probably eating sticks in the yard - he's not allowed to eat them so he really enjoyed stealing the tiny sticks and running around with the zoomies. There were two picnic tables on the ground and a fire pit. Dock wasn't in yet but we could easily get our kayaks in the water. I didn't go but my bf did. He said the water was grassy but neither of us went swimming so not sure how it is. House was clean. Tvs in every bedroom. Kitchen had cooking necessities. Two bedrooms downstairs are good sized. Clean. Tv/ internet lagged at times but wasn't an issue. I didn't need to reach out with any questions or concerns. Yard was clean, plenty of room to run around and play. Very quiet neighborhood. Hardly any cars drove down the st. Walmart and grocery stores within 12 mins. Relaxing weekend. Really enjoyed being able to take our dog. I didn't notice any dog hair or smells like some pet friendly places so that was appreciated. They also don't have a long list of chores at checkout, take out trash and dishes- basic_ very reasonable. .The only complaint was the weather I wish we stayed longer. We'd go back.
