This cabin offers 4 bedrooms and bunks in an adjacent boat house with many areas to gather in the main house. It has a very nice 2 side screened in porch for enjoying the lake. Complete with books and games for indoor activity. There is quite a bit of lakeshore with a private beach, double dock, boathouse, kayaks, and paddle board.
The house has a large screened porch, a nice small beach for swimming and docks with kayaks for guest use.
The house itself was charming with plenty of space in the living room, kitchen and, especially, the screened-in porch for gathering. Our group of mostly adults enjoyed the docks as well as the private sandy beach. We used the kayaks and paddle board on beautiful, clear Brandy Pond. We brought most of our food and supplies with us as the stores in Windham are a good 1/2 hour away. The area also offers some wonderful hikes for families, not too difficult with rewarding views. I highly recommend if you don't mind a rustic house--although very new kitchen and bathrooms!
Beautiful area and location. The property was a quintessential Maine Lakefront retreat, with a full porch that provided stunning views of the lake and a gathering place for all our family members to enjoy every meal. Nothing wrong at all with the quiet and beautiful area. There were some things that could have been improved upon. One being that the boathouse really was never used for a sleeping area as there were no shades on the windows and very very hot with the dehumidifier working. And the pull out coach was very dirty so our grandson slept on top of the couch itself.. A bit dirty throughout the camp, but we spent every day either outside swimming or on the front porch. all in all a great location and experience which we all enjoyed so very much.
house on water is great
This is a great place to stay for a family vacation on a small lake. It is an old Maine cabin that was expanded and modernized to provide lots of room while retaining its old charm. The house has a large modern kitchen, big multi-function living room, and large clean bedrooms but the highlight is the large wrap-around screened in porch with a magnificent view of the lake. We spent most of our time on the porch and had all our meals at the dining table there. Outdoors were a small beach big enough for young children and adults and piers with kayaks and a float for paddling and swimming. All on all, the house provided what we needed for a wonderful large family vacation on the lake.
