Beautiful log home. We loved our stay. There were a few things that could have been better but overall it was amazing. The water was murky because it was late September but the water was calm. The mornings were absolutely beautiful, calm, and so peaceful. The night sky was full of stars and peace. We would definitely come back.
The location is great. The bay was very calm and nice for paddle boarding. Our dog had a fabulous time on the beach and in the water. The house was comfortable and nicely equipped.
This was a fantastic, private property with amazing views and private beach! The house was very nice and well equipped. We had a fantastic time swimming and boating. Also really enjoyed the fire pit in the mornings. Really great summer place!
The yard, sand, and view are stunning. Relax on the deck and take it all in!
As far as scenery, there’s nothing better. The mountains surrounding this beautifully manicured and private escape are breathtaking. We only had a short stay so we maximized our experience by waking very early and were so grateful we did because the view of the river from the deck with the early morning mist was heavenly….truly something to behold. And waking early gave us so much time to enjoy fishing, swimming, and kayaking. We have five children from ages 3-11 and they all had the time of their lives, while we discovered a new found love for kayaking!! They supplied enough kayaks for all of us to enjoy little river adventures as a family of 7. My only tips if you’re on your way to enjoy this beautiful vacation home would be to maybe bring your own life vests because you’ll want to be sure everyone has one that fits safely (a few are supplied which was wonderful, but will not suit every group). Also, if you’re afraid of spiders at all just be prepared that you will definitely encounter a few sizeable ones! I assume it’s especially difficult to control them during the July to August timeframe, but possibly a little more pest control would be one of few critiques. Even so this would not impact our desire to return and in fact we booked two stays within one month so we are thrilled to go back and have another exciting weekend with the kids. I would recommend FULLY stocking up on absolutely everything you might want or need during your stay from coffee creamer to condiments and possibly even a couple larger sized towels as the ones provided are quite small. We arrived to the property and went straight to the beach because unlocking the door proved to be a bit confusing (we eventually figured out the lock needs to be turned before the door will open) and saw that there was fencing along the sand where it meets the water. Initially we were quite irritated and confused thinking this might possibly mean we shouldn’t access the water from the sand?? If this happens to you - you’ll learn as we did that it’s simply a preventative measure to keep geese/ducks off of the property to maintain cleanliness and they make it clear you should roll back the fencing to use the beach! It was a little hot in the house when we arrived but we turned down the air and eventually the temperature was tolerable. There is also a fan for upstairs to help circulate the air and make sleeping more comfortable. I think the only true negative would be that the train across the river which is super fun to see and hear during the day isn’t so fun at night from the loft bedroom. It runs during the night and will definitely wake up lighter sleepers. So I would say choose a different room or maybe bring ear plugs - but it turned into a positive for us because it got us out of bed bright and early, without it we wouldn’t have discovered the breathtaking beauty of the early mornings on the river. Overall, a fantastic place to spend quiet, peaceful, family time. Our short trip was amazing!
