My family a had a wonderful time at Second Wind. Everything was nice we didn't have to worry about not having nothing it had everything we needed.Very clean. The View was amazing never been that high in the mountain before but we will come again.
This place is amazing - gorgeous views where you truly feel above and away from it all! The house had everything you needed - the kitchen was very well stocked, there was a ping pong table, corn hole, games, books, etc. The hot tub was such a treat with sunset views. The Wifi can be a bit spotty but we figured it was due to the remote location. You're just a short drive away from amenities like shopping/restaurants in Waynesville. Would definitely book again! Our family had a great week!
loved it had a great time made memories with 2 of my daughters and their girlfriend
The property was beautiful, the view was breathtaking, and the hot tub was clean and fully functional. Although the hot tub is on the lower deck, the view while you soak is still breathtaking. My husband and I rented the property for a spontaneous, much needed getaway, and the quiet, solitude, and shear beauty of the property and view helped us unwind quickly. It’s hard to put into words how peaceful it is up there in the clouds. Unfortunately I did have the work phone on me, and I was a bit worried about reception but we did not lose cell reception in any part of the home (we use Verizon). The master bed was comfy, there are several games and books to entertain. We’re not great at trivial pursuit but we still love to play and they have 2 editions lol. The area did lose power for ~2 hours on our first night(not property specific, a down tree took out a line on the mountain). The local power company had it fixed quickly and my husband and I just found a couple of candles and had a candlelight dinner in the meantime. The last ~mile stretch getting up to the house is a little intimidating, but with 4 wheel drive we had zero issues. And it is entirely worth it for that view! So glad we chose this property!
Beautiful expansive view of Smokey mountains at 4000’. Beautifully decorated and lots of room to spread out and enjoy. Great restaurants in waynesville and Maggie valley. Hiking trails abundant. Best of all the cool temperatures!!
My family and I loved our stay at "Second Wind" and we were blown away by the views! The house was spacious and easily accommodated my family of four and another family of three. The hot tub was clean and easy to use. Our highlights were watching the sunset, cooking, hiking up to the top of mountain (easy, short hike with unbelievable views), driving into Waynesville (cute town!) for day trips, and a morning hike to Midnight Hole just up the road in Great Smokey Mountain National Park. Would definitely come back to place. What a hidden gem!
