Sunny Retreat

The property itself was nice overall and worked well as a place to stay. However, we ran into a few issues during our visit. Communication with the host was frustrating. When we reached out, we often received generic responses from different people rather than clear or consistent help. For example, the dishwasher did not work properly, and this issue was never resolved during our stay. One of the main reasons we chose this rental was the advertised access to the pool and the ability to rent kayaks. Unfortunately, there was no indication that these amenities were seasonal, and they were not available during our stay. It took several days and multiple messages to get a clear response about this. At one point, we were told to scan a QR code to rent equipment, but doing so revealed that rentals wouldn’t be available until Memorial Day—after our trip had already ended. Had we known these amenities would not be available, we would have chosen a different property. Instead, we had to spend extra time finding alternative places to enjoy the water. Despite these issues and the inconvenience they caused, no compensation or meaningful resolution was offered. Overall, our concerns are more with the vacation rental company and communication than with the house itself. One additional note: the TV is quite small—smaller than what you’d typically find in a hotel—which made it difficult for four of us to comfortably use our Nintendo Switch.

Tub was out of date

Lake Junaluska is a very nice area and the neighborhood is quiet and close to Waynesville. The home was well equipped and we enjoyed our stay

This is a cute place with a convenient location. During our stay, we had issues with the keypad on the door not working correctly, the WiFi information not being correct which left us unable to use WiFi and very limited cellphone reception. The back sunroom area smells very strongly of cigarettes. I opened the windows on our first day for it to air out, hoping that maybe the last guest smoked in there and some of the smell was trapped but once the windows were closed again, it was very strong. For those reasons, I likely wouldn’t stay at this place again.

Great house

I thought the house was really a neat little space to just get away. If your group is small, 2-3 people it will probably nearly perfect for you. It has a nice porch, but there isn't a real view, so just know what you're getting and you'll be fine. So thankful to have had the stay.
