I wasn't sure what to expect since I'd never been to this area before and was a little concerned about how hard it was hit by Helena, but I'm so glad I braved the mountain roads and found this little place. It is little, really only big enough for two adults and two small children, or a couple and their dog (which was our case). I cannot say enough how wonderful it was to have a little creek running beside it, which picked up steam due to the rain. The sound of the little waterfalls combined with the occasional rainfall on the tin roof of the porch was so relaxing!! The house was very well decorated with lots of greenery and little bears everywhere, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you needed to cook full meals. As noted in the description, there is a lot of construction going on and road closures that require waiting for the single lane to open up, but it wasn't too bad. I intentionally stayed put because of the weather and a little fear of driving some of the steep hills with sharp turns - something others should prepare themselves for. My GPS also indicated that I had arrived when I was near the home, but there was another corner to go around and I almost missed the driveway. Those were the only surprises but nothing at all to complain about.
The cabin was very quiet and secluded. It was a little smaller than I expected but fine for the two of us. The only downside was the construction on the roads in and out from the hurricane damage. Just had to allow extra time to get where we were going. I would stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay here. The view of the waterfall from the main bedroom was wonderful. It’s a small, but comfortable cabin. The road itself wasn’t too bad to get up. Kitchen had all of the essentials we needed, and the bed was very comfortable!
We used the home to cook a couple meals and had all utensils plus more than needed. Had a small issue that was resolved quickly for us. If your looking for quite time with the family with plenty of outdoor room to this is the home for you.
Loved the outdoors and cabin porch !
