The location is outstanding, less than a mile from Lake Junuluska and a great community. It offers pickleball, fishing, a swimming pool and many other wonderful amenities. Nearby dining, shopping and hiking opportunities just add to the experience! We have already booked again for October!
We had a wonderful visit at Pelican’s Perch. The property is tucked away in the mountains in a peaceful, quiet setting, yet very conveniently located. We took amazing day trips to the Biltmore Estate, Maggie Valley, Cherokee, and the main street shops of Waynesville—all just a short drive away. The house is spacious, very clean, and well stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was a perfect setup for our family and made it easy to relax and unwind after full days of exploring. The hosts and staff were dedicated to our comfort and needs and made the entire stay seamless. If you’re looking for a family-friendly mountain retreat with easy access to great attractions, this is the place. We plan to stay here again and highly recommend Pelican’s Perch.
The location to Maggie Valley was nice.
The house layout is fine, beds were comfortable but I did not find the parking enjoyable nor did I find the back pathway safe. I won’t be back.
The location isn't completely ideal if you're wanting to be close to Lake Junaluska retreat center. You definitely have to drive back and forth. Also, be warned that if you have a two-wheel drive, the driveway is pretty hard to get up. As long as we came in with a little speed, we could make it up, but it wasn't easy. And it was even more difficult after rain. Make sure to bring coffee, spices, cooking spray/oil, etc. if you plan on using the kitchen. There is nothing stocked unlike Airbnb's I've stayed in previously. I would also suggest bringing extra toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher tabs and trash bags if you're there for an extended amount of time. If you're picky about pillows, bring your own as well. Overall, the home was fairly clean and had some of what we needed for our short stay. Just come prepared!
Good location, lots of shade and quiet on the porch
