We loved our long weekend away at Gold Creek Cabin. The cabin had everything we needed and was the perfect getaway. We were impressed by how maintained the private road was. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook multiple meals and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out during out stay.
We were looking for a cabin with winter vibes and seclusion. Pros: It’s up high on the mt so vies were beautiful from outside and drive in The property does feel private despite having a road right next to it and neighbors It has what you need to get by plus some. Stocked kitchen and bathroom. It’s close enough to black mt and Montreat where was wonderful. We felt safe in the area and in the storms. Cons: The road in is one car dirt path so highly recommend you have 4 wheel drive and a little skill in case you need to back up a distance to navigate around others. Especially when raining, snowing or muddy. Steep inclines and drop offs. Also recommend coming early and not navigating this for the first time in the dark. It’s a little dated and aspects of it cannot be cleaned. The walls and doors are rough wood and catch webs and dust. If you’re looking for perfectly clean, not going to find it here. Even given the wood walls - It’s in need of a deep clean for the floors and floor heaters. It’s a little neglected feeling and dead bugs along with mud in rooms we hadn’t yet entered had us feeling they hadn’t cleaned for our visit. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again but I don’t regret booking it if that makes sense.
We absolutely loved this property and our stay! The owners thought of everything needed for a fun family vacation. Games, books, fire pits, grill, any kitchen gadget you might need! Coffee pods were provided, along with filtered water. We had a fabulous time and would definitely return!
We loved our stay here. Cabin has a lot of rustic charm without being overly rustic. Our group had 3 couples and there was plenty of space for all. Outdoor areas were peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed spending time on the deck. Downtown Black Mountain was easily accessible and we split our evenings between the various breweries and restaurants downtown and also brought food back to cook in. Looking forward to returning.
The cabin was very nice!! The WiFi worked great and we never had any problems with the heat or AC. The amenities in the kitchen worked great as well. The cabin is in a great location, and is easy to find. Would definitely go back and definitely recommend!
