This was a great rental home for us. It's very relaxing, and set well back from the road in a quiet area. The back view is woods and a creek, the front looks over farmland and a barn. The home was nicely furnished. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you could need. The large front and rear covered porches may be the best feature, with the rear porch screened and very well furnished for eating or relaxing outside. We had some rain during our stay, so it was really nice to have.
The house was perfect.
The house had all the comforts of home and we enjoyed walking around the property. Very nostalgic from our childhood. Country feel yet conveniently located near downtown and shopping. We can’t wait to return. Very conveniently located
Peaceful, charming, quiet and close enough to everything. The small creek was a fantastic spot for the kids to explore. Hope to come back.
Wonderful location tucked back in a private glade. A group of deer visited most days and daffodils were starting to bloom along the drive. Loved the convenience of the gas fireplace turned on by remote. Private but still just minutes to Flat Rock, as well as hikes at the Carl Sandburg house and Dupont State Forest.
Spacious, secluded natural sanctuary. Saw some sort of wildlife every day from turkeys to deer, many different bird species and other mammals native to the area. The spacious screened in back porch is one of my favorite places to hang out. The supplied gas grill was perfect for my grilling needs. Super close to the quaint city of Flat Rock and the spectacular hiking in DuPont state park.
