Overview
High Falls
A wilderness retreat you won't forget is awaiting at High Falls! Enjoy stunning year-round views of Lake Glenville from the expansive back deck. This cliffside home is named for High Falls, a beautiful local waterfall accessible via a trail from the nearby Pines Recreation area. The Pines is a small public access park about a mile from the home with picnic tables, seasonal restrooms, and a public swimming beach right on Lake Glenville. It's perfect for an afternoon excursion! The lake view is constant, and lucky guests will also enjoy intermittent spillway waterfall views from the home. Called Onion Falls, this bonus waterfall forms when extra water is released over the dam spillway from Lake Glenville into the West Fork Tuckasegee River below. Inside, the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern convenience makes High Falls incredibly homey. The living room's leather seating and wood burning fireplace make the perfect combo for family movie nights, whereas the kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, stove, and bright red tile countertops. Follow the grizzly bear friends into both of the bedrooms, cooled by central air during the warmer months. A private washer/dryer and collection of board games round out the cabin's interior amenities. Near your stay, get your boat on Lake Glenville and enjoy the North Carolina sunshine, hike around The Pines Recreation Area, or take an unforgettable trip around the Lake Glenview Scenic Waterfall Tours. Things to Know AWD/4WD/traction is recommended at all times, and required in winter.

I really enjoyed my stay and found the home to be comfortable and in a great location. The host was kind and responsive, which made the experience even better. There were just a couple of minor things that could be improved—some areas could have used a bit more attention in cleaning, and I briefly ran out of water during my stay. The host was quick to respond and brought more, which I appreciated. Overall, I had a lovely stay and would recommend it to others, especially with just a little extra attention to those small details.
We loved the remote location and views off the deck. The leaves we at the peak colors so we had a great show. Its a short ride into Cashiers where you can stock up on supplies , shop and have plenty of good places to eat. A short ride toward Franklin provides some of the best and most accessible waterfalls in NC.
Great view,
Good cabin aesthetic and efficient use of space (fairly small) Love the real fireplace. Cannot see neighbors and have view of lake and spillway. Downside is that you can see and hear traffic as it crosses the bridge. Exterior of cabin in rear needs paint/stain and door for screened in porch.
We had a wonderful mid-summer visit. The accomodations were perfect for our two couples with bedroom and bathroom on each level. One couple especially enjoyed the nearby hiking and swimming opportunities. The other couple spent their time relaxing comfortably inside or watching boats on Lake Glenville from the rear deck. Note: Unit is not wheel chair accessible. Also, because perhaps for the lush foliage along Pine Creek Rd, the turn-off onto Lake Ridge Cr is easy to miss. Look for two mail boxes across the road from turn-off. The road to the cabin is a narrow one lane, and mostly gravel covered with a few rough spots.
My husband and I had a lot of fun driving in and out of the property. Remote location but close enough to restaurants and grocery stores. Amazing views of the dam and close to High Falls, which is breathtaking! Simple cabin, but you can tell a lot of love goes into keeping it nice for guests! We’d go again! Special thanks to the owners for sharing your home with us
