Very relaxing cozy cabin
We loved everything about this home. We came for the weekend to experience the Pikar Express on Saturday night. Our first time in Bryson City. The town itself is so charming. We were here 12-5 thru 12/7 and it was a cold weekend which made the hot tub a big big bonus. Loved it! We will most definitely come back! Our six year old said it was the best trip ever!!
This was the perfect house for a cabin getaway in the mountains. The view is to die for. They have everything you need there, including extra pillows, blankets, and towels. The house was in immaculate conviction when we got there. Upon leaving our car was dead, we called the owner David to let him know. He was in Georgia but gave us 2 phone numbers for help on a Sunday rainy morning. The local farmer came up and helped to jump our car thanks to David! Great stay, great customer service!
We generally stay at hotels on vacations but we herd vacation home are worth the price. Not in this case. We were there 5 days. If they were not going to supply things like Toilet paper, dish washer soap, Laundry detergent and dryer sheets they should have that information available on the site. We did have one role of toilet paper in each bathroom but that's it. We looked in every drawer and cupboard and there wasn't any others. We called the number on the web and was on hold for over an hour. No one ever answer or returned our message. Plus they should also state on the site that getting to the home is a very dangerous drive. about 7 miles before you get to the home in both directions the road is very curvy with no shoulder and cliffs that would kill if you went off the road more then a foot. We are very experienced drivers and even I was scared to leave the house once we arrived. We didn't leave much and didn't do all that we had planned and that was a shame. The drive scarred us. I wish I would have known this beforehand or I would have picked a different home or even a hotel. This was the first time in my life that I was glad to be leaving a vacation.
The kitchen was so well stocked and the views breath taking. We were so lucky with the weather!!
Here is my initial survey. The home was clean overall but thats where the positives end! The gas grill was completely inoperable. The spark sensor to start the grill had a corroded battery and when replaced it still would not work. The Blackstone griddle was filthy and the cook top was covered in burnt food from the prior tenant. These two items obviously were not tended to prior to our arrival. We brought all our food to cook and intended not to be forced back to town for meals. We ended up cooking on the gas cooktop in the home and when we pulled out the dishes for serving, many were dirty and not properly cleaned. We called last night and by the way, our calls were immediately dropped. This has been a huge disappointment and we certainly are not getting what we paid for. In the next text there will be pictures I took documenting my claims.
