We loved this little cabin. If you are looking for posh do not bother. But if you came to Arcadia to live a simple life for a few days this is perfect for you. We loved this place. It was straight out of the 70’s just like my childhood home. It had wonderful beds. Lots of linens and anything you needed to cook for the week. The porch was just as expected. Rustic with lots and lots or charm. Lots of wildlife and beautiful fall foliage. The view fro the lake deck looked like something out of a story line. The fireplace gave great ambiance. We did use our phone and laptop to connect to the tv by streaming. But only for football and a couple mingles one night. We hiked most days until dark and came home and crashed. This truly was a hidden gem
Even though there were other houses close by, being in the cabin was like being isolated in the woods. There was a nice lake view and a great patio to hang out on. It was very close to all the Acadia, Bar Harbor activities but away from the crowds. We and our pups had a great stay.
Beautiful location. House needs work.
Great little dock with four kayaks available. Decent fishing for the kids and friendly curious ducks to hang out with. Unfortunately this house is VERY outdated. Although it had the basic necessities for a decent week in Mount Desert, we tried to stay at the house as little as possible. The furniture, including couches, chairs and beds, were old, uncomfortable and not very clean. The kitchen faucet sprayed water like Old Faithful straight to the ceiling. The coffee pot made more coffee for the counter than the carafe. Overall I feel like we could have stayed in a much nicer home for the same price. But we still enjoyed Acadia and all it had to offer.
Loved the stay. Having access to the water was a nice plus. Though the immediate shoreline wasn’t very swimmable due to lilly pads, but having kayaks allowed us to go to the swim area nearby. The living room furniture was a little dated, but it worked for our family of five. Proximity to restaurants and Acadia attractions was great, while feeling remote and private. Thanks for having us.
We loved the location, right on long pond. We loved the kayaks and used them several times. Area was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Areas of improvement would be the master room mattress, very firm. Woke up sore. The fridge took four days to cool food in fridge and freeze food in freezer. Furniture was outdated and couch needed cleaned. It had visible dog hair and I could not sit on due to skin allergy to dander. New pots and pans would be a great addition. Many were old. Overall we enjoyed our stay and those areas would not deter us from staying again, just wanted to give accurate review of our stay. We appreciate you sharing your house and allowing others to stay. It was a nice vacation and got to enjoy all Acadia and Bar Harbor had to offer. Canada was also accommodating with check out instructions that could not be met due to early departure. Thanks again we had an amazing time.
