Overview
A true Midcoast Maine retreat with decades of family history, this lakefront log cabin is a place to find peace in nature on the shores of Pemaquid Pond. With 1,260 feet of shore frontage, you'll spend your days listening to the call of the loons and fishing, swimming, and boating from your private dock.
This private, family-owned cabin is located on 37 acres on the tranquil eastern shore of Pemaquid Pond. A ramp leads you out to the 16-foot-by-20-foot dock, seasonally available from May to October (with space to moor a 24-foot pontoon in 6-8 feet of water). A number of watercraft and lake essentials are even provided for you, including two kayaks, a Gheenoe wide canoe, a 12-foot aluminum boat with oars, a stand-up paddleboard, and fishing poles.
When you're not out exploring Pemaquid Point (17 miles), visiting the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (22 miles), or taking a whale-watch excursion from Boothbay Harbor (22 miles), a wealth of fun and games awaits you at the house. Play horseshoes and cornhole, barbecue and dine on the expansive back deck overlooking the lake, and roast marshmallows around the wood firepit.
Inside, you'll find all the classic elements of cabin living, including log walls, lofty ceilings, and large windows that frame spectacular nightly sunsets. Enjoy an assortment of board games and books, multiple smart TVs that you can sign into using your own streaming accounts, and such family-friendly touches as a high chair, baby gate, and Pack-N-Play. Other conveniences include an automatic backup generator, window air conditioning, and complimentary WiFi.

This spacious, secluded home was everything you would want for a vacation. A very nice, log cabin vibe with a beautiful fireplace top enjoy on those cool evenings. A large deck overlooking the lake offered a great place to enjoy the solitude while listening to the Loons. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future.
Plenty of room for our group of four adults and four kids. The property has a large water frontage and convenient to Damariscotta
Beautiful home. Immaculate. Family oriented. Loons every night. Absolutely lovely.
Waterfront was beautiful!! Lots of fun swimming, fishing and boating. Fishing was great in early morning and evening providing a lot of fun for the grandkids. Overall a beautiful place to spend a week or two in the summer.
The Bayberry Lake House is a beautiful property in a lovely location with scenic views, and comfortable furnishings. We especially enjoyed the cozy fireplace and the potential for outdoor relaxation on the balcony and around the fire table and fire pit beside the lake. However, several maintenance and housekeeping issues significantly impacted our stay. Upon arrival, we found dirty dishes, silverware, pots and pans in the cabinets with limited dishwashing supplies. The outdoor furniture that was covered in dirt and bird droppings. Upon arrival the kitchen outlets were non-functional for most of a day due to a tripped breaker in a locked basement. The smoke alarm in the primary bedroom began emitting a loud alarm at 1 a.m. due to a dead battery. The firewood provided was too wet to use safely, requiring us to purchase dry wood. Additionally, the advertised Netflix and screen mirroring features were not available. With better attention to cleaning, stocking, and maintenance, this property could be a five-star experience. We hope to see these issues addressed for future guests.
We come every year for the Damariscotta Pumpkin Festival. This was our favorite place yet, and it had anything you’d ever imagine needing.
