Unlike many properties that simply advertise “shore access,” The Creek offers private approaches to the shoreline across its own land. While no shoreline in Maine can be described as fully private, it is rare to see others walking this stretch, giving guests a quiet and secluded waterfront experience. Walk the mowed paths toward the bay, explore tidal pools at low tide, look for sea glass, watch wildlife, or simply enjoy the changing view from the deck.

Inside, the home is clean, spacious, comfortable, and well stocked for family stays, small gatherings, and relaxed coastal getaways. My wife and I spent a week at The Creek on Penobscot Bay. The setting and the home were perfect. There was everything we needed and more. The house was well stocked, including the kitchen. It was spacious and the beds were comfortable. There was a large covered deck overlooking the bay. The setting is spectacular. The home sits on a large private parcel. It is set back from the bay and the owner mows a wide path through the meadow down to the ocean and the tidal pools. Although we were there at the height of tick season, we didn't have any problems. The views are spectacular. We walked the beach and explored the tidal ponds. The location was perfect. It was a short drive to Castine and Bucksport. Castine has nice restaurant options, beautiful coastal scenery and the Maine Maritime Academy. Bucksport was also nice and there was a grocery store, too! We hiked some of the short trails in the area and also went to Acadia which was an easy hour's drive. We plan on renting The Creek again!

The home was beautiful and met all our needs. The kitchen was a bit hard to maneuver and small, but we managed! We knew they had just changed management companies so some things were beyond the new management abilities to adjust right away. But we were flexible and patient so know it will only get better! Please remind guests to bring bug spray for ticks---the field in front of the house is loaded with them. Not the owners fault, but a very helpful tip to share with new guests.

The Creek was the perfect spot for our visit to Castine, ME. The setting is beautiful, our host was communicative and responsive and the home is cozy and roomy at the same time. It felt like we were in a cabin with no one nearby. I can't recommend this home enough-we hope to have the chance to book it again!

Private location with a great property and excellent beach access with plenty of wildlife. Had Harbor Seals barking on some of the rocks immediately offshore, group of Pileated Woodpeckers spent some time with us along with the usual Gulls, Herons and several families of deer in early AM and PM. Great access to Castine and other Upper Downeast Maine towns.
