Overview
On a bluff overlooking Harmon Harbor, the Sheepscot River, and the open expanse of the Atlantic Ocean sits Seguinlandia, a stunning escape on the shores of the Georgetown peninsula. A retreat of artists and architects, this is a place to watch lobster boats come and go, spot the resident bald eagle, and stargaze beneath some of the brightest night skies you've ever seen.
This two-story home enjoys a location that's both incredibly scenic and close to the best of Midcoast Maine. It's right on the road to Reid State Park, Maine's largest oceanfront state park with a gorgeous sandy beach and rocky shores full of tidepools. (Beach chairs and an umbrella are even provided for your use.) Even closer is Five Islands Lobster Company, a beloved local seafood spot with 180-degree views of the water.
As the family home of George Baker II, a renowned local oil painter, the house is full of landscapes and seascapes depicting Georgetown, Monhegan Island, and other beautiful scenes of the Midcoast. In fact, Baker's daughter and son-in-law, both architects, designed each room around a theme in the paintings.
Inside, you'll be greeted by lofty timber ceilings and a rear wall of glass, ensuring you never lose sight of the ocean, passing sailboats, or fishermen coming to collect their catch. The living space brings together the kitchen, the dining area overlooking the water, and the living room where you can curl up with a good book or board game. Owner has recently added a Guava Lotus travel crib. Just outside on the meandering deck and patios, find a breathtaking spot to sit back with a crossword puzzle, barbecue on the gas grill, or catch a meteor shower if you're lucky.

It’s like camping in that you’re surrounded by nature — just plain awesome nature, in this case — but better because, well, indoors you’ve got all the modern amenities of climate control, designer bathrooms and great art! We didn’t want to leave.
Loved the view of Maine coastal waters, islands, and surf along rocky outcroppings. Home reflects an architect’s artistic touch.
Private location directly on the water with amazing views. House was as pictured and spotlessly clean. Perfect spot for a quiet getaway. My only suggestion would be to offer fireplace access (for additional cleaning fee?) which would have made the chilly nights even better (November rental).
We loved how close it was to the ocean and the beautiful views from the wraparound porch
We are local to the area and stayed here to be on the water and close to Reid for a few days. This is a really special spot- facing directly east with some spectacular sunrises, craggy, rocky beach below, and the feeling of the artist throughout. Primary bedroom is gorgeous. Kitchen is more than fully equipped. Deck is fantastic. And a quick run or drive into Reid for hiking and swimming. Excited to see if the owners do any work on the hammock porch or downstairs apartment in the coming years. Feels like a labor of love.
Perfect escape right on the water with beautiful views of the ocean. From the deck, we saw seals popping up their heads in the water with bald eagles flying overhead. We had a lovely dinner right next door at the Gray Havens Inn. Also spent a day at the beaches of Reid State Park just a few minutes drive down the road.
