This single-story, oceanfront home sits five miles north of small-town Brooklin. The house itself is private and independent, but it is also part of a larger family compound with a common road (and the homeowner living next door). Hike the Hundred Acre Wood Trail just down the street, head out to Deer Isle for a quiet day of exploring (eight miles south), and take unforgettable excursions to Acadia National Park (37 miles).

The cottage is a showcase of its surroundings, from the path that leads through the trees to the ocean shore to the glass doors and windows that frame the view at every turn. After a day spent hiking, kayaking, sailing, or driving the Midcoast, come home to light the gas grill, share stories on the back deck, and dine outside in the fresh ocean air.

Inside, the light-filled living space is accented by an open floor plan and beautiful details of natural wood. Whether you're utilizing the stainless steel kitchen appliances to prepare dinner, playing board games at the dining room table, or streaming movies in the living room, you'll do it all with a panoramic view of the water.
