Thinking of how my parents and grandparents would have kept a home, this was it; clean, neat, with historical history connected to other homes on the street near and walkable to downtown Rockland, a park, and both a Maritime and children's museum. Although without a view of the water, it is near a beach and boat launch. One of the few homes I've seen with a clean garage available for use, and has a working record player. Excellent small markets and stores nearby with several lighthouses, beaches, art and transportation museums a short drive away.

We had such a fun time in Rockland! This little house was the perfect size for mom, dad, 2 kids, and grandma. Well situated for getting up to Main St and enjoying all the town has to offer. Our dogs enjoyed how close we were to the ocean and a large park. We would definitely come back!

Two full baths was great - we were two couples and each of us took a floor. Downstairs had a small den and upstairs had a room with two twin beds so each couple had a "suite". Outdoor shed with table and chairs and grill was nice to have for evening meals. Kitchen is well-equipped. Location is good - nice neighborhood in south end of Rockland. We walked along harbor walk and got local ice cream! Lawn and plantings are well-maintained. Parking for two cars with extra room. Convenient to Owl's Head, Farnsworth Art Museum, Birch Point State Park (beach) as well as village of Thomaston (Laurel's bakery and state prison store). Jess' Market is walkable and has great seafood and wines. Bigger supermarket is a short drive in Rockland. Kitchen has everything you will need - and maybe too many plates and mugs!! Fridge and freezer good capacity. Dishwasher came in handy as did laundry (in basement). All in all a very pleasant one week stay and we felt like we lived in the neighborhood. Quiet area - you hear the cars on Rte 73 but the sound fades into the background (Really not a concern.) Would be happy to stay here again.

The house is on a quiet street but is still close to restaurants, shops, museums, and the Rockland waterfront. It is obviously a well cared for family home, complete with old board games and a great record collection. Plenty of space for our family of four and had everything we needed. It's not luxurious but it was a great place to stay.

This was our 2nd stay at Montgomery Cottage and it was wonderful. A perfect location for exploring Rockland and all mid coast towns. The house has everything you want and need and is so cozy and welcoming. You can walk or ride bikes to the beach, into town or just around the neighborhood. Great restaurants and shops nearby or a short drive to Camden. Lots of fun for the family! Thank you for having us!

This was one of the best rental homes in this price range we have ever rented! It is not flashy or trendy or hip. It is cute and comfortable and was perfect for us. We loved the old books and the vintage record player. Pros: 1. Location: The neighborhood is quiet and lovely. Perfect for taking walks. You can walk just one or two blocks to a little cove with benches to relax and see the boats. 2. The downtown. Just a couple of minutes drive although you could walk. We enjoyed all of the little shops, the museums, and the restaurants. So much fun! 3. The house met our needs in terms of the bed configurations and the beds were all quite comfortable. Both bathrooms were clean and the showers were wonderful. A set of towels were on each bed for our use. 4. Kitchen was very well equipped. There is a Keurig and a regular coffee maker. We found everything we needed. 5. The yard is lovely! Beautiful plantings and flowers. We enjoyed playing frisbee in the back yard and eating at the picnic table. 6. Customer service. We only needed to call once because we couldn’t connect to the WiFi. They answered immediately. The issue was that the password we were given was incorrect. The correct one was on the list of information on the fridge. Cons: None! Our only suggestions would be a more comfortable couch in the living room and a larger trash can for the kitchen. Minor things, really. Our group consisted of me (mom) and my five kids ages 22-11. They all had a wonderful time. Their favorite activities were Owl Head’s Lighthouse, a puffin cruise out of Port Clyde, the Rockland Lighthouse, and the Farnsworth Museum. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
