Overview
A secluded, waterfront getaway awaits in this all-season ranch home, tucked into the trees and surrounded by water. The wooded 3.4-acre property is set on Upper Patten Pond (a smaller, and quieter, private lake where you can catch perch or pickerel), and within 15 minutes of Ellsworth with shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and kayak rentals. There are also two kayaks included with your home. Enjoy easy access to state forests and parks, Bar Harbor (40 minutes), and the entrance to Acadia National Park is a 35-minute drive away.
Closer to home, the shady, private patio in the backyard is the perfect place to sip morning coffee, and the firepit awaits for an evening spent roasting marshmallows and trading stories about the day. There's a pair of loons that will serenade you in the evening, and you might also spot eagles and other wildlife during your stay.
Take in unobstructed water views from every window inside the homey living space, detailed with sweet country touches throughout. Hardwood floors, a wood stove, and comfortable furnishings help create a warm, cozy feeling no matter the time of year. The well-equipped kitchen features all the appliances, counter space, and gadgets you'll need to whip up a feast, and the group can dine together at the window-front table or pull up a barstool at the kitchen island to keep it casual. Spend the evenings gathered in front of the wood stove while you stream your favorite shows or use the in-home, high-speed WiFi to upload the day's pics to social media. Relax with some music courtesy of the sound system with speakers in every room or, if you've got any remote work to do, a sweet roll-top desk offers the perfect perch. Three comfortable bedrooms await at the end of your first – and every – perfect vacation day.

I cannot say enough about our recent stay here. With 3 adults and two preteens, we had plenty of room to spread out and all the amenities we could possibly need. The house was simply beautiful and the property was spectacular. It was secluded enough for tranquility but close enough to downtown Ellsworth. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Location was just so memorable and the accommodations were totally comfortable. Views couldnt be beat and we loved experiencing the nature around Patten from the pond itself, especially. On one morning on our way out of the house, a fox crossed our paths on the road well before the bookstore. Thank you for having us, we'd be fortunate to be able to stay again.
We had a wonderful stay! The house was perfect for a family of 4 (2 parents and 2 college kids). The property is immaculate and so private! We took out the kayaks every day, watched the sunrise and enjoyed the wildlife - loon family, a fox and raptors. House is conveniently located to Ellsworth and Acadia is not too far. We did not want to leave!
Beautiful Lake Home and Beautiful Grounds!!!! The Lake is Majestic-- especially early in the morning!!!
Wow! This home was beautiful! We loved all the windows and natural light. The private area with the view of the pond was so peaceful and relaxing. We saw loons, ducks, and a bald eagle. The location is an easy drive into Bar Harbor and Acadia. The house had all the amenities needed and was so spacious. We will be back!
Great views, loved the kayaks, loved the fans, great roomy house for our family! We had a great July visit, enjoyed the fire pit and nearby Acadia for amazing hikes/views!
