Nothing can beat the convenience of this home. Literally a 10 minute walk to all the restaurants and shops in downtown Bar Harbor. We knew in advance about the bed situation, however not sure we could do it again as we are all used to sleeping in at least a queen size bed. There is no cable, and the tv only had Roku and Pluto. Not a great deal to watch on these channels, but we were barely there. Very clean and hospitable-the wifi was great, and lots of electric plugs. We had the best week of weather, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Of course, the fact that the home was dog friendly was awesome.
The location is about the only thing going on for this house. It’s owned by the College of the Atlantic so it is a little run down. The rooms were fine, only one shower had a good water pressure and the sunroom furniture has seen better days. The house did not have an iron or board and could have been a little bit cleaner.
My family and I really enjoyed staying at Brewer cottage. It is an old house which gives it a lot of character. We loved it.
The location is PERFECT. You get of the house and 15 seconds later, you're in the action on busy Cottage Street. The Hannaford supermarket is a 2 minute walk, so it's not a big deal if you forgot to buy peanut butter! Perfect for a large family like ours, lots of room for everyone. It's an old cottage owned by the College of the Atlantic, which houses students between september and may. Therefore, you should understand that is not luxury housing. The dishwasher was broken, I hope they replace it for future guests. Also, don't expect much from the TV and Roku device: it's out of date and we barely used it.
This place has a nice location and is roomy however is more of an unmaintained college rental in disrepair. The owner could easily take some easy steps to make significant improvements to bring this place up to a baseline standard. I hate to say it but it was very unkept, worn interior and exterior, furnishings were old, many in disrepair, house was cluttered w old belongings and boxes of odd things that appeared to be left over from yrs of renting to college students perhaps. We enjoyed our vacation however it was despite the house conditions.
Location within walking distance to everything! Home functions very well but don’t expect high end standards. Beds were comfortable. Home was clean. Would stay again for location!
