Sunset Point Mountaintop Cabin

Our family of five (with three young kids) had a wonderful week at this beautiful cabin in Bar Harbor! The home has a rustic, cozy charm that made us feel instantly relaxed, yet it’s well equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen was impressively well stocked, making it easy to cook meals together after days exploring Acadia. We loved the outdoor living space — perfect for morning coffee, evening dinners, and taking in the gorgeous views. The location couldn’t be better — peaceful and scenic, yet just a short drive to downtown Bar Harbor and the park entrance. The cabin was comfortable and spacious enough for all of us, with thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel like home. We truly enjoyed every moment here and can’t wait to come back again!

Beautiful and convenient location, down the street from Cadillac Mountain. It’s also a very short drive to downtown Bar Harbor. It’s a small, rustic cabin. Comfy beds with minimal, but adequate amenities. Not luxury, but good enough.

I had the pleasure to stay in this cabin in late spring. I was there with my dog solo and then my husband joined! First - the location can't be beat - feels a bit like being in a tree house which l love - beautiful sunsets, surrounded by trees, quiet + stars at night are a must see. It's literally surrounded by Acadia - minutes from Carriage Paths, Eagle Lake, Bar Harbor, Cadillac Entrance, Park Headquarters, Park Loop Road, etc. - easy to access all of Mt. Desert Island. Everyday I did a morning excursion, easily came back to rest and refresh midday then head back out for another part of the Island in the afternoon for another hike or outing. Most days we came and went at least three times. As far as the electric range - it worked great (has clearly been replaced if there were issues, and looked brand new). I cooked most nights which was great for my budget and desire to really unplug. The double beds are super comfortable - we slept great. Fresh clean sheets, kitchenware, fridge, hot showers, clean bathroom. Also nice to have access to laundry in the little shed. Totally recommend staying here - especially if you want to make the most of your time in this fabulous national park and enjoy quiet sunsets on the porch up in the trees. Will be back!

The cabin's location was secluded, had a good view of the sunset, and the deck was great for our morning tea and reflection time. The cabin was small, but cozy and comfortable. While we never used the WiFi, our smartphones were able to make connections when needed. The location was minutes away from Bar Harbor and Acadia, but secluded and off the beaten track. Our son liked the limited time we allowed him at the end of the day on TV or watching NetFlex. We would seriously consider it as an option if we returned to the area!

No recycling, very short beds, too small for 5 people to be comfortable, 2 burners on the stove did not work and haven't for years, no trail on the hill as was claimed on site. Beautiful location but it is very clear the owners have no interest in the upkeep.

Very convenient to everything — close to park and downtown bar harbour!!
